This should be a great game as both these teams might just might have a chance to get in the final

As did Diouf when we bought him. :)

BTW, what's this with Ghana's hard tackle without any caution from the ref but Uruguay has got 2 yellows?
What's the consensus, helping the only African team left in the tournament or what?

Suarez handballed a clear goal off the line... then they missed the penalty. Last kick of the ball too.

Gyan looks a good player. Must've taken some balls to step up and take the first penalty.

I knew Abreu would do that, he plays for Botafogo (from Rio de Janeiro) and he always take penaltys the same way.

Well done Uruguay, I wanted them to go out in the group stage but now Brazil are out of the competition I think I wouldnt mind seeing them lifting the trophy to be honest, it would be nice to have it back to South America (as long as its not Argentina).

      Destiny?

Four years ago Alvaro Recoba said they had divine right to play in the world cup before they were beaten by Aussie. This year they seem to come to prove what they said then.

Cheating? Mmm..may be, obviously it was not on, but should he let it to become a goal without doing anything "legal" as far as the rule is concerned?

He was given a straight red and then his team conceded a penalty. It was "fair" as far as the rules say...
It was illegal but he was already punished. So, that's football.

That's how I see the situation too. He didn't try to fake anything, it was just a desperate attempt.

Like in NBA, teams foul the others to gain time every game. Fouling isn't legal, so they're punished. But it's tactics too.

I felt bad for Gyan, least he got his second.

What was it with those players having a tiny run up and then just scoring and then that ghana player did and missed.

      What a game!
Happy for Uruguay they fought until the end, and that wasn't a cheat. Suarez  traded a goal for a pen and red card.

The free-kick before the handball was a dive, that's cheating.

I think hand balls like that on the line should be given as 'penalty goals' like penalty tries in rugby when an attacking scrum is deliberately collapsed near the try line. It was cheating and he got punished for it. Although not enough. Gutted for Ghana. Uruguay will get pummelled by Holland in the semis.

He said that he knew it wasn't possible to head it out, so he used his hand.

The ball has not crossed the line so it shouldn't be awarded as a a goal. If it was awarded as a goal then every goalbound shots that are being handled by defenders will be given as a goal.

      Cheating? Get a grip.

If you couldn't head it (which he claimed he couldn't) in the last minute of the World Cup quarter final knowing that if the header goes in you are out then you do what you can to keep your country in it.

It might not have been sportmanship at it's best but in those situations you do what you can. Instead of having a pop at Suarez it should again be Fifa we question. We need penalty goals like Rugby in my opinion. Scrap that red card. A goal and a yellow and play on.

FIFA will consider extending Suarez's ban. He hit the ball with his hands, got a red card and Ghana got a penalty. What the F**k do they want more!? He allready won't play in the semifinal. And it's not his fault that they didn't score the penalty.

If Torres handballed it and Rooney missed the pen I'd be delighted with Torres.

It's an instinct to do that, he did it and he got punished by the rules of game. Ghana missed the penalty, they knew the rules before the match that if that happens it's a red card and a penalty. They got both and bottled the penalty.

Actually the best way to prevent the goal should have been like this:
      - Suarez should have taken off his shirt and pulled it with both hand and then catch the ball without touching then he should have kicked it.

So the ball would not get into the goal, he didn't handball it (because he used his shirt to get the ball) and no penalty was given (there's no rule for this yet= and he would have got a yellow card only for taking off his shirt.
