the dutch were robbed by the poor finishing of robben one on one with the goalie........twice

and by howard webb for missing a corner moments before the goal........

i just knew the ref was gonna decide this match in one way or another........and so it came to pass

Very good match. Both teams had a lot of chances, but the finishing was pretty bad.

Very happy that Spain won this.

Well done Howard Webb knew you wouldn't let us down, Alex Ferguson will be proud, I'm sure I saw De Jongs tackle in Karate Kid.

Sorry to have to say this Dexter, but Holland got what they deserved. They were an absolute disgrace.
Well done Spain for trying to play football against a cynical side. Your lot should have finished with nine men.

Really disappointed with Holland they did orchestrate a very cynical game as racer said, in doing so they would get a shed load of cards as a result and them complaining about the fact was totally unbelievable.
From the outset it seemed that extra time and penalties were the target if they had got their heads down and gone for it the game would have been a cracker one in which I would have continued shouting for the orangemen, but their tactics were woeful.

It was inevitable that Webb was going to mess up.

Really shocked with the Netherlands though, i would never have thought they would have gone out there with the main aim of drilling the opposition.

      Disgusting.
Dont know which was worse. The foul or the fact that DeJong stayed on the pitch.

Web did make some mistakes and this was one, should have seen red without doubt. He would have got mobbed by the Dutch but they were complaining about everything from the off.

Holland got what they deserved which was a defeat.

Some disgraceful play from them, Van Bommel's challenge on Iniesta and that horror one on Xabi by De Jong were a disgrace.

Spain played it the right way and stuck at it and got the win they deserved. Sorry to say it but the Netherlands should be ashamed of the way they played.

I can see exactly why Johan Cruyff wanted Spain to win in a way despite being Dutch.

Congrats Spain! The work they put in the last 4 years since 2006 meant they deserve every minute of their success.

What can I say, Spain deserved the win. Van Bommel and De Jong especially went much too far. I'm very dissapointed. Although we weren't playing well, I was expecting penalties in the end. I think Webb did a pretty shitty job, not that it would've been in our advantage if he would've done a better job. What a hangover.

Xabi Alonso is a disgrace, throwing his chest onto De Jong's boot. To be honest Holland could have won which would have justified their tactics. As we have seen with that Portuguese bloke as long as the team win then people won't complain (well not everyone). Too many teams are becoming too negative and concentrating on stopping the other team from playing.

In fairness, Casillas kept Spain in the game so it very nearly did work for Holland. What a travesty that would have been.

Seems he's got fractured ribs now.

I think one thing was Spain kept to their game. They believed in their style and I don't think they set out with special tactics to stop Robben and Sneijder.

Netherlands, on the other hand, wanted to put Spain off their game by being physical. It could have work but it didn't.

I don't think Howard Webb had the best of games but can't really blame him when the Dutch were really rough. Netherlands should have got a corner before the goal though.

what about puyol fouling robben the time he got through on goal. robben could have fallen and got a penalty but in the end he got punished for playing honestly.
