It's his agent making all the noises about Liverpool's interest. Being honest though I would like a young striker like him at our club. He looks as if he has a bright future ahead of him...  ;) ;)

It's in today's echo so could be true? With quotes from Remy himself.

exactly 15 in 33 is quite good for a club like nice, imagine what he could do with players like gerrard, aquilani and maxi behind him!

Loïc Rémy scheduled to fly to England on Saturday and land at ... Liverpool ! Subject to a transfer fee of 12 million pounds (just over 14 million euros), Nice striker prepares to sign a contract period of five years for the Reds. A club "legendary"according to the person.

      Ehhh...

You can only read into those figures so much. Overall that's almost a 1 in 3 goals to game record, which isn't actually bad at all over your whole career. Also bear in mind around 20 of those appearances came when Remy was still a youngster and was probably either not played up front, or was still developing as a player. If you look at his past two seasons at Nice, he's scored roughly 1 in 2 goals a game, a much better record. It's also worth noting that Remy's playing in a mediocre Nice team who finished a respectable 9th in 08-09, and a less impressive 15th last year. Given the right players around him Remy could well be a success. Whether he's worth buying considering our low transfer budget is another matter. He'll command a decent fee, and regardless of whether he's interested in Liverpool, it comes down to whether we can afford him.

Reading some comments by French there, seems like they think him and Benzema are the future for the French's attack.

To be fair mate, Benzema has not being given a fair enough chance at Madrid and the only flaw he has is that the money seemed to motivate him to go their.

I think this Remy deal is close to being done.

I am weary on that only because I think the source was talkloadofbull....I am afraid that they reported it and it's bouncing to other sites.

This potential transfer seems to be all over the net. Rumoured that he's having his medical tomorrow.

£12.5m. Does this mean that we're going to have a transfer budget this year...

Or maybe we should prepare for quite a few more sales...
