im not a big fan of this whole splitting the squad, i think (being manager extraordinaire ) that sure it would be far more beneficial to keep everyone together so youngins can learn from world class players.

The problem there is that the internationals just aren't as far progressed in their preparations as they are, especially in terms of fitness, they're on a different training program and schedule. The youngsters wouldn't be able to learn anyway because they wouldn't be training together.
