Luke Young (Aston Villa)

I'm all for Luke Young as a backup to the defence as he's versatile but you've seriously got to start asking questions about him for even pondering whether to move to Liverpool or not.

Well to be fair to the lad a lot has happened to him this last year so I think he needs time to reflect on the situation as this has come out of nowhere..

Again, regardless of him signing or not, he is still a better left back than risse, dossena, aurelio or insua even though he I'd right footed. As a back up he would have been perfectly adequate as a back up or occassional starter. We have to remember how bad our sitiation is and a player like luke is a good old fashioned pro that ourt club in foreign mediocrity has lacked at its core. You need reliable players who desire no limelight

In my opinion he is a better defender than Insua, Aurelio, Dossena or Riise. I think for the fee we are stated as paying and for a player of such experience, I think its an excellent bit of shrewd business.
He will be a good and solid starter or bench warmer.
And another englishmen...all in all, once again Roy has delivered.

You are kidding, he's an average right-back at best, Johnson, Kelly and Darby are all better players than Young and they're English!!

As for playing left-back, I don't recall ever in his career playing left-back, this is the stupidity of our baord right-now, buying any old sh*te because they're English, yet you could keep Insua, doesn't have to start, but be a part of the squad because he qualifies as a home-grown player, then just go out and get a proper left sided left-back who can come in and go in to the first team straight away.

No way is Luke Young a Liverpool first XI player, no F***ing way!!
