Spearing was impressive in the middle. Kept in simple and mopped up everything.

Ok performance, the opposition were extremely poor, Kelly and Jovanovic impressed me. Our defence was in cruise control as well.

Attitude was right from the lads. You can only beat what's in front of you. Complacency can easily set in so early in the season when you come up against poor opposition. It didn't and we won.

Job done in my view. Good to see the lads and our manager get a win when it mattered.

Just watched the game  

Thought it was a very good performance, Ngog and Amoo both excellent. Kelly also had a very good game at right back. We controlled it from the start and ok the opposition arent great but our passing and movement going forward was good and everyone wanted to get on the ball which is great to see.

Only negative for me was Aquliani. He was upstaged by younger players and for an Italian international you would expect he would boss a game like this but hardly got into it.

Aquilani is better in the centre surely tonight and the pre season game he played showed this. He is absolutely wasted in the hole. That is not his position he never played there in Italy.

I liked the tempo we maintained all through, despite the hot conditions.  A very acceptable start.

We did okay Kenny, thought Kelly and Jovanovic were our most impressive players. Personally I wasn't that impressed with Spearing to be honest, he did alright. Our defence was very solid as well. Two good finishes from Ngog as well.

Thats good. Kelly is by far our 2nd best youngster behind Pacheco so great that he impressed yet again.

Kelly was quality. Amoo did well apart from his final ball. Spearing I thought was ok nothing special. N'Gog took his goals well and all round was decent.

Darby, Eccelstone and Dalle valle all got a run in the last few minutes

2-0 to LFC. Ngog took his chances well. Skrtel and Agger solid at the back. Aquilani and Lucas, not too bad. Next weeks return leg at Anfield just a formality now. YNWA
