      David Amoo player thread
      Jul 29, 2010 10:41:57 pm
Granted his passing was off tonight and his final ball not great but the mere fact he wanted the ball and was prepared to stay wide and run with the ball gives me great hope for him

Loads of pace. Only 19 he has lots of time to learn. Prospect methinks

I thought he had a decent showing in the game today, he has lighting pace which he use to beat the defenders but like many young players he needs to work on his end product which he gets into those attacking spots. I hope he will get another run out a week from now in the return leg.

His profile off the official site.  Good to see he's just extended his contract, can see good things from this lad in the future.

      Profile

David Amoo is a powerful right winger whose Liverpool journey began in 2007.

A host of clubs sought his signature but the Millwall youngster chose to continue his football education at the Academy.

Two years later Amoo was promoted to Melwood after a 12-goal campaign which included a Kop end winner against Chelsea U18s en route to the FA Youth Cup final.

Amoo, who can also play up front, once represented London as a sprinter in the English Schools National Track and Field Championships.

He signed a new two-year deal in the summer of 2010.

From what i have seen on LFCTV and in the last couple of games during pre season, i am just as excited about this lad as i am about Pacheco. His pace is unreal and he's a proper winger, when have we seen one of those in the last few years at LFC?

I admit his final ball is a bit disappointing at times but as said above he has plenty of time to sort that out.

Played well at the carra match.

Im excited about Amoo is definatly the type of player we need and have unable to either sign or develop in the past.

Could see him evolving into a Walcott or Young.

Bury sign up David Amoo on month's loan from Liverpool

Bury have signed David Amoo from Liverpool on a one-month loan deal.

The 20-year-old, who can play as a forward or on the wing, featured for the Reds in a Europa League qualifier against Rabotnicki in July 2010.

Amoo had loan spells at MK Dons and Hull City last season, scoring once in seven games for the Tigers.

He will take the number 19 shirt at Gigg Lane, and could feature for the Shakers when they host the Dons in League One Saturday.

Clever move by Kenny and Commoli, really rate this Kid, one for the future and good we're holding onto the players from our academy.

David Amoo has extended his loan deal with Bury until January 2, 2012.

The Liverpool forward moved to Gigg Lane in September and has made four appearances for the Shakers so far, scoring one goal.

Amoo joined the Reds from Millwall in 2007 and has made one first-team appearance, which came in a Europa League qualifier with FK Rabotnicki in July 2010.

It's disheartening to see so many players from the Academy not being of any use for the team. I don't really mind about them as individuals, because they'll surely get a chance to play or a living here or there; what saddens me is the fact that the team is so uncapable of producing really important players. Maybe Suso or Sterling will make it one day, but it has yet to be seen.

I know on the other hand we have Spearing, Kelly, Flanagan, etc. but I don't think they have proven anything specially remarcable for the team to date. I mean, they have certainly done their jobs as expected, but none of them are world beaters, and they don't seem like getting there either, IMHO.

Anyway, good luck to Amoo wherever he might go.
