      "Undisclosed" Transfer Fees are rubbish
      Jul 30, 2010 03:47:49 pm
It's rubbish to have "undisclosed" transfer fees between clubs.

As fans pay the players' wages and swell the clubs' coffers, they have a right to know how much is spent in every transfer deal.

Agreed, but to be fair to the press, they usually get the rough figure. But then, you have nothing else to go on so just believe what they say anyway.

Transfer fee's should really be made public, but when the club accounts are published, you can work it out from there anyway.

Agreed. I just never understood why some transfers are undisclosed while others are not?

Don't see what the big deal is to be honest because the fee is usually leaked anyway.

Undisclosed is so one of the clubs can either try and kid there fans they spent more or recieved more for a player and then they can do what they F***ing want with the money like put it to interest repayments.

It's basically an agreement between the two clubs to not show the fee in public. Perhaps this is because they don’t want the player to recieve extra pressure from the fans or media, or they may have spent a large figure on an unknown player, and they don’t want to have the clubs fans on the player back from day one. By making the transfer fee undisclosed, no-one knows exactly how much money the club may have wasted on their new signing.

Liverpool have traditionally not declared transfer fees. Anyway declared fees are meaningless as the can either include or exclude bonuses, loyalty bonuses, agents fees, win bonuses and signing on fees.

If you add or subtract these sums, or parts of these sums, from a declared transfer fee the permutations of the actual cost start nudging on the ridiculous.
