      Liverpool Fans Must Change
      Aug 02, 2010 01:07:26 pm

There is a lot of speculation about a new owner coming on board soon but I fear for anyone brave enough to buy the club.

It seems to me that a lot of fans expect miracles, believe Liverpool have some sort of divine right and are a special case.

There needs to be a massive attitude adjustment amongst the fans to give the new owner time to get things done.

The stadium might never happen unless we look at a ground-share so we need to accept that.

The players we can realistically buy are now below what we all dream of, simple fact is we are not the force we were so we need to wake up and smell the coffee.

Any new owner will be buying a cut price, damaged club - end of.

We all need to accept that we are no longer one of the big boys and have an attitude to match.

Glad to see the back of you then ;-)

But there does have to be more realism in play. Nobody is gonna pump £500m into a stadium or £200m into the team.

So cash is the be all and end all now.

F***ing hell city are F***ing minted but are still a big, stinking, curly pile of sh*te.

Our attitude should always be the same - we exist to win trophies.

The minute the thought of us not being one of the big boys enters our minds is the day this club ceases to exist.

We are liverpool fc and a club like no other and exist as huyton red states to win and win big.

I'm hoping this Chinese fella is going too.

How about some optimism mate, so sick of all the negativity concerning our club, time to get these Yank cu*ts out and hopefully let the good times roll.

Thank you for proving my point.

We are at a point where we can start building our way back to the top.

Right now we have a stadium not fit for a big club and a team creaking under the pressure.

And nobody will buy what we H and G are offering at the price they are asking.

You dont need a big stadium to be a big club the revenue helps yes.

The mancs have a bigger stadium than us but we are the most successfull club in the land.

A club is big as its trophy cabinet, and ours is big.

Atleast we have history charlie, arsenal have big staduim but does that make them a bigger club than us?no.

A big club is one that boast an illustrious history a trophy room decorated in silver thats what makes you big.

Nottingham forest under cloughie won the european cup twice they are a big club because of its history.Your past defines your future.

Liverpool fans shouldn't change at all.

We are in the league to win it, nothing less is good enough. All Liverpool fans should have the same opinion on this. As the song states, Walk on with hope in your heart, and no, we shouldn't change, we have hope and belief that no other fans in the world have for their teams, and that makes us special.

The day we change and settle for anything less than being in the Elite in Europe and the World is the day, we should just down tools and say go for it Tom & George sell of our key players pay off your debt.

We don't mind spending the next few decades in the wilderness and settling for mediocrity, whilst you two pair of Cowboys ride off into the sunset with your ill gotten gains.

So for me this thread is pointless, and just like the "Dragons" in the den, I'm out, no more contribution to this thread from me.

A large, owned stadium is key to any investment strategy. To suggest ground share is just daft. Nothing to do with inter-club rivalries just pure finance.

So folks lets do the sums.

      Debt £300m
      Buying H and G out £300m
      New Stadium £400m
      Squad improvements £200m

So where do we expect that £1.2bn to come from?

We could trim that bill by £200m with a ground share and its still £1bn for any prospective owner coming on board.

I simply dont see that happening and I know thats not a popular view but I do think its a realistic one.

The world only has one Sheik willing to go crazy and he was bagged a while back.

Time for a reality check folks and I dont mean for me.

      Ground share.
      Lower expectations.
I think you will find your opinion better suited to that of a bluesh!te.

As for myself and the majority on here... we'll keep demanding the owners leave and hoping for an owner who can bring this club back to where it belongs... and thats not the top of league one.

It's back as the best club in the world.
