      Best of British TV?
      Aug 06, 2010 06:34:40 pm
Wondering if any of you would be able to point me in the direction of some quality British TV shows.

I have already watched: Skins, Shameless, the Peep Show, Black Books, Misfits, the Inbetweeners, Ashes to Ashes, Life on Mars, No Heroics, Spooks, Torchwood and all the classics of course.

Usually I'd just ask my housemate to ask his family but he's not too keen on speaking to them after this season (they're all scum supporters except for him and his brother, he's from Warrington the poor lad).

Red Dwarf, Auf Wiedersehen Pet, Blackadder ignore the first season, but the box set for all seasons is usually good value, Brass Eye, The Day Today, Inspector Morse, Lewis, Jonathan Creek, QI & The Thick Of It.

Oh and I forgot a new show called Sherlock.  Really good, but only made 3 episodes this series.

Did anyone watch Mongrels on BBC3 over the past eight weeks?

Very funny puppet show for adults with plenty of colourful language.

Auf Weidersehn is a classic show.

I also liked Spender with Jimmy Nail as well many years ago.

Best British tv I have had the pleasure to watch? Fawlty Towers, Only Fools and Horses, Blackadder, Porridge, Rising Damp and of course I'm Alan Partridge.

Alan Partridge - Cup of Beans

And for certain - This Is England is worth a look no matter who you are.
