Well wadda ya know, just had a response to a job I applied for from over a month ago and going for a "chat" with them on Wednesday.

In my line of work that means, how much do you want, do you want full or part time and when can you start  :D

      Good luck Deb.

I think it's in the bag Cas.  When they say you're everything I'm after and more, it's pretty much a formality.  Not that I'm going in with that attitude but good, experienced staff are hard to come by in my job.

Anyway, hopefully I'll be working again by next week   ;)

Not very well mate.  It was a self employed position which was fine for me, get to pick and choose my hours, prices etc but the salon was a sh*t hole and it was pretty obvious she had no interest in improving, modernising or building her side up.  Pity really as it could have been ideal for both of us.

Got an interview on the 29th, another self employed position but a much nicer salon and it's in town, well established, good website etc so fingers crossed.

It's quite a common thing mate and works well if you're in the right place.

I'd checked out the facebook page before I went to see her and the quality of her work posted up looked good and the potential was definitely there but the environment was a bit confused.

I wasn't sure I was in the right place when I arrived, there was nobody in reception and even though I could hear voices out the back, I was there for a good 5 minutes then had to go look for them.  The reception area had shoes, handbags, scarves and jewellery all on display for sale but no hair or beauty products.

I wasn't sure but decided to call back for another chat the day after, see if things were a bit more professional when clients were in but nah, it was worse.  She was sat in the salon, no shoes on, her plate and cup from having dinner were on the nail bar and seemed even less interested than she was the first time.

Shame really but when you treat your business like going round ya mates for a brew and a natter instead of a professional, working environment, I've no sympathy when it's not working.

Blessing in disguise then mate, suppose if you were desperate things would be different but being a free agent gives you more scope.
No doubt the salon you're trying for next will be a better prospect, good luck Debs.
