Any fantasy fans out there should read George R R Martin's ''A Song of Ice and Fire'' series.  I've just finished the first book ''A Game of Thrones'' and its one of the best books I've ever read.  Even better than Lord of the Rings IMO and not as hard to read.

And its being made into a TV series which I'm looking forward to.  I just hope the author will get a move on and finish the series before I catch up.

Just finished a biography of Dave Grohl by Michael Heatley.

The Nirvana part was a bit of heavy reading but once it come onto the Foo Fighters the book was really really interesting. I'm not that big a fan of Nirvana but those who are would enjoy the whole book!

If your looking for a really funny book, with a football theme I can highly recommend The Van by Roddy Doyle,(the guy who wrote The Commitments). Its about two southern Irish fellas who buy an old butty van, and endeavor to do it up prior to the 1990 World Cup. Whereupon they envisage they will make a killing selling food to masses that are watching the Republic Of Ireland, reach the quarter finals of the world cup. If it doesn't have you pissing your pants with laughter, I will eat the proverbial hat

I haven't read this one yet, but I loved everything else of his that I've read. I thought 'A Star Called Henry' was great, but 'Oh, Play That Thing' was a bit wanting.

Porno - follow up to Trainspotting and funny as F**k - pretty much anything by Irvine Welsh

Brilliant book, I really hope they make it into a film at some point.

There was a rumor years ago that they were going to, but it never happened. I agree, though. Great book that would've mad a great movie.

I probably prefer autobiographies/fictional books to be honest.

Besides Gerrard and Carra's, Alex James (Blur) was a really good read.

An author by the name of Matthew Reilly writes brilliant, action packed books.
Has a few, i recommend starting off with Temple and Ice Station though, brilliant books read each in about a week, couldn't put 'em down besides work.
