      Happy Ramadan
      Aug 10, 2010 03:45:35 pm
Ramadan, the most significant time on the Islamic calender, begins tomorrow. I'd like to say Ramadan Mubarak to everyone. xxxxx:action-smiley-065:

For those who don't know, Ramadan is a holy month for Muslims, in which we go from dawn to dusk without eating.

It's a period with deep meaning. It's a time to be the best person you can possibly be. One of the main reasons behind the fasting aspect is for Muslims to feel the pain of the poor, well a bit of that pain.

I'm in Sydney, and the moon was spotted in Indonesia and Malaysia. I've just finished eating suhur right now actually.

For us, the morning prayer is 5:15am and we break our fast at 5:21pm. It's not too bad but the days will get longer as the month progresses.

      What about for you?

It's not too bad at the moment, as it's still winter and the days are much shorter. I remember a few years back having to go without no food all day in 40 degree heat. Every year the month of Ramadan is 10 days earlier than the last on the western calender, which is why a few years back it fell in the Summer for me.

How hot is it for you Shabs, as it's the English summer?

Happy Ramadhan to all Red Muslims all over the world. It's kind of the same with what we're doing right now, starving ourselves from buying any Liverpool related things that can profit those two leeches until they were forced out!

      Indeed, Ramadan Mubarak!

I can go for an entire day without eating anything if I'm occupied by other things but as for intentionally doing it, I'm really not sure I could.
