I aim to keep to my 5 prayers through out the whole of the month, which sadly i cannot say i have been doing in recent years, but i hope to this year inshallah, if i do break any fast's it wont be due to hunger or thirst it will be because of the girlfriend side of things, but hopefully i won't.

what about you mate, what are your aims?

Yeah, I was pleased about that.

Wow, Shabs, reading last year's posts, the days have lengthened even further this year for you and vsuarez (I presume you live in England). Its the opposite for me, with the days shortening, and Taraweeh at 7ish.

      Indeed, Ramadan Mubarak!

I can go for an entire day without eating anything if I'm occupied by other things but as for intentionally doing it, I'm really not sure I could.

Same here, went until the evening yesterday without eating (did have about 10 beers by then though ;D ) But intentionally doing it - couldn't at all.

Anyways, Ramadan Mubarak to all Muslim Reds :)

To the contrary, it's very cold at the moment (by Aussie standards), so it's a breeze. We start at 5:20am and break it approx. 12 hours later... :)

Well everybody don't know much about anybody's religion but as we're all Liverpool fans that's not a barrier to our oneness(wtf, is there any word like oneness?)!
Being a muslim and having a lot of friends among Christians, Jews, Hindus and Buddhas I don't see that as a problem, but only if you're a Man Utd fan ;D!
Anyway happy Ramadhan and hope that we'll pass and move, keep it simple!

      Happy Ramadan and Eid ul-fitr!

Although I can't see how voluntary starvation could in any way be happy.

Its the only act in our faith god states is for him,we give up our sustenance to help us understand and relate to the people less fortunate than us in the world, just look whats happening in horn of africa then you will grasp how fortunate we are.

Spirtually it helps to bring us closer to god, health wise its pretty good to fast as it gives your internall organs a much needed rest and it helps you to be more patient in life.

      Hope that helps.

I wish i had the self control to fast, not for religious reasons but what you mentioned Shabs about a bit of a cleanse for the body. Think when i get the chance i at least need to detox a little, always helps to reset a bit!

Anyways slightly off topic that, more power to you all. Hope you achieve whatever personal and spiritual goals you have set :)
