Big disappointment not seeing him feature Wednesday, watched him against Man City for U21's and he was stand out performer for me even though Morgan bagged a brace. Was one of better players in WBA cup match, deserved to start imo yet didn't get a look in.

Bit of a puzzle what's happening with him, hope he doesn't get shipped off because could be a player for us in future.

That is an unfounded statement and a bit unfair on Dani.He is yet to start a game in the premier league or a game back to back anytime where Suso and Sterling both have so we really don't know what the outcome would be if we gave him that opportunity.

How is it an unfounded statement?! the lad has been here for a fair few years now and has always been a lot of talk about him going on to become a top player. Yet everytime he has played for us he hasn't shown anywhere near the promise Suso and Sterling have and I remember the game he started in the Europa this season, he was woeful! He's been out on loan too and failed to make an impact there.  He's also a few years older than both of them 2 so if he still isn't getting into the team infront of or along with them 2, when we are thread bare on attackers then clearly he isn't doing something right.

Did you watch him vs West Brom?

Considering the opportunities Rodgers has goven the young players this season does it not speak volumes that Dani has received very little first team action. Maybe a few fans need to face up to the fact he isn't (and likely never will be) good enough to play at this level?

Really played well too, don't think he'll go on the plane to Russia, but must be knocking on the door for the next away match in the Europa surely.

Oh you mean the match that he was missing for the majority of after his good shot early on and obviously didn't show enough to be in the team since?

The F**k? His passing, movement, and chance creation were excellent, not to mention the amount of times he tracked back to make tackles and pitch in defensively. Check the comments after the match. Everyone thought he had a good game. Assaidi and Sahin killed it as well.

Totally agree had a very good match v WBA. His movement and touches were first class.

Kicked to another level last night once he had Teixeira feeding him a quality supply.
Hope he gets some more chances this season.

      Dani Pacheco vs Wolves U21

Some on here wont like this, but I think he could develop into a false 9 and I'd have him on the bench if we needed to give Suarez a break.

Said as much last night Racer.  Think both Dani and Adorjan learned from Luis' last couple of goals in last nights match.

Surely we need to have him on the bench soon.
Makes no sense to have no attacking substitutes.

Not long ago he was headed for the exit door. I'd like to think in sport/life you need the right breaks sometime.
I hope Dani's was his deal falling through. If he continues to perform like he has, he deserves to be getting time
at the end of games sooner or later this season in the PL.

I agree mate.  He's really buckled down and showing what he's capable of again.  He's that bit older and more experienced too and I really don't think he would let us or himself down if given the chance.

I'd say he also is crystal clear that this is his last chance at this club.
Must also sharpen his focus to see Sterling and Suso getting regular football now.

Like I said earlier though. No chance of shifting Suarez. We need to mind Suarez
and when we do so I'd have no problems sticking Pacheco into the false 9 role if
he maintains his current performance levels.

You never know mate he might get his chance on Thursday.  I've put Morgan in my starting 11 simply because he didn't play last night but Brendan might decide to start Dani instead.

If Dani did enough to get a place on the plane then I'd have him in as a starter.

Or maybe play a 352 with both Morgan and Dani up front.

I suppose the way we've been using Henderson and Downing lately we could see them play wide in a 5.
Both have been used as full backs at times so why not?

                  Coates    Carragher    Agger

      Henderson                                  Downing
                        Coady             Sahin
                                  Shelvey

                       Morgan         Pacheco

Personally I think it's a bit of a mess though.
Far too much compromise on players positions.
Unless we move Henderson inside, drop Downing and play Wisdom and Robinson.

Drop Downing and Sahin, move Hendo inside alongside Coady with Shelvey slightly ahead.  Wisdom and Robinson as wing backs.
