Apparently we've signed this very good 16 yr old Daniel Pacheco from the Barca youth team. Anyone else heard of him? I tried searching on here to see if he had been posted before, but no result.

You can watch videos of him here:

Something about history not ending! Liverpool have captured one of the rising talents in football from Barcelona. In this instance, the robbery involves Daniel Pachecho and the centre forward has commited to Liverpool!

The young footballer, who turned 16 on the 5th of January last year, has utilised the experience of Alex Garcia in El Juvenil A, has decided to accept the offer from 'The Reds' to play in England for the next three years. However, Barcelona intend that the player continues to form part of the Blaugran discipline, and the agreement between the English assembly is that the player is already non-returnable

Hope thats a little bit better reading for you all! 8) Spanish A Level came in handy after all  ;)

Daniel Pacheco Lobato ( Dani Pacheco)

is half Spanish and half Czech, and he plays in Barca's Cadet B team.

Nicknamed The Killer, this 16 year old who came in from Mallaga has been dazzling football onlookers ever since. His natural gift is in goalscoring and he somehow always manages to get the ball in the net despite the number of defenders around him.
He looks like a candidate to chase the record of Barca B goal machine , Bojan Krkic who has an amazing 889 goals in his kitty.

He has well graduated form the standards of the cadets and is a natural born scorer, who has had impressive goal tallies to his sheet, including series of hat-tricks, braces and singular strikes that have changed the entire course of games he has played in.

Pacheco, one of the pearls of the youth team, 'flees' to Liverpool

The never ending story. England has set it's sights yet another one of the emerging figures in the blaugrana youth setup and, this time, they've managed to pry it away from Barça. In this occasion, the 'robbery' has been committed by Liverpool, :o who have taken Daniel Pacheco with them, central forward of the U-16 team.

The young player, who, despite having just turned 16 this past January, has already been used regularly for Alex Garcia for the U-18A, has decided to accept the 'Reds' offer to play in England for the next 3 seasons. Although Barça has tried to keep the player under it's wing, the agreement between the English club and the player is irreversible.

Garcia Pimienta, his manager at the U-16A's this season, considers that he is "a big loss for the club because we're talking about a striker with lots of quality and a goalscorer. He's been our top goalscorer, reaching almost 30 goals and he's already played with the U-18A's, so i don't think this is a sporting issue, because he is highly valued at the club". The coach considers that "along with Thiago Alcantara and Gai Assulin he is one of the U-16 players with best prospects that we have, but there is nothing we can do now. It all happen very fast".

Dani Pacheco arrived in Barcelona from his native Malaga and has spent the last four years at the club. Now, like Cesc, Pique or Fran Merida before him, he's gone to England.

It looks like they really rated him if they are using robbery to describe us signing him? maybe they should review the law regarding contracts and they wouldn't be losing their youngster's left right and centre! ;D

Can I ask a you guys something?  Ok, they messed up with Fabregas...but he's a midfielder, not as valuable as forward

If you've seriously got a wonder kid (forward) on your books and you're Barca - would you risk the chance of letting him go!

Sounds strange to me, don't you think?  Woudl have been like someone pinching Owen, Fowler or Gerrard from us in the youth days...it wouldn't have happened!

If your a club of Barca size and you have a super potential talent - and you get the reds come knocking - don't you tell em where to go?

Good point but how many youth players make it through to the first team at top clubs these days when barca are signing henry youth players must know they have no chance and must move like at real madrid they have some wonderful youth players like jaun manuel mata who plays just like raul but he's had to go to valencia because of Higuaín.

But Camara - this youngster is a top scorer.  Do you let top scorers leave that easily?

I can understand a midfielfer or a defender with potential being allowed to leave...but a forward.

If he's as good as they say he is...then we have potentially just 'nicked' a £30million player (potentially)!

As far as I know and I hope someone will correct me, Spanish clubs can't tie a player down until they are 18 when they can then offer them a contract, so I suppose as daft as it sounds they are relying on the likes of Pacheco being happy enough in the short term with the fact that when he's 18 he may? get a contract from Barca and so won't tbe tempted to be lured away by the evil English. ;D

it seems going by Sky the lad just turned down Barca's offer of a professional contract in favour of ours, so make of that what you will (money orientated?) and ignore my first paragraph ;D

Liverpool have raided Barcelona to sign one of their prized young talents in the shape of Dani Pacheco.

The 16-year-old, nicknamed The Killer by his team-mates, was regarded as one of the best youngsters in the youth set-up at Camp Nou and only arrived as a 13-year-old from Malaga.

However, he has shunned their offer of professional terms in order to pen a three-year deal at Anfield.

Pacheco's signing is the latest in a string of youth deals tied up by the Merseyside giants in recent weeks - with Alex Kacaniklic, Marvin Purie, Mikel San Jose, Nikolai Mihailov, Krisztian Nemeth and Andras Simon all penning deals to join the club's academy ranks.

Barca youth coach Garcia Pimienta admitted losing Pacheco was a huge blow to the club.

"It is a great loss for the club because he is a forward with a lot of quality," Garcia told Sport.

"He has been our top goalscorer and has already played for the youth team.

"Alongside Thiago Alcantara and Gai Assulin, he is one of the cadets we had the most hope for, but nothing can be done anymore.

      "Everything happened very suddenly."

The news of Pacheco's departure to England is another blow to Barca, who have lost a host of top youngsters to the Premier League in recent seasons.

The likes of Cesc Fabregas, Fran Merida and Gerard Pique have all turned their back on the Blaugrana to make the move to the English top-flight.

Yes of course, but the lads 16! A club can't contractually keep hold of someone that young and he may have advisers and agents who feel he'd be better suited with us. At that age it is upto himself or his parents what he does

In are eyes the Reds are the best and biggest club in the world.  But in the eyes of Barca, Real, Ac Milan, Mancs - they think they are too.

So my point is: You say it's upto the Parents and himself...why leave Barcelona - if your highy regarded there?

I know I'm going on and on and on...but it just doesn't add up?
