I can only see good coming from such an arrangement, For one it suits both clubs, two, You never know it could unearth future world stars, three, It cuts out alot of red tape And of course give potential players valuable experience of not only playing regularly but of European football into the bargain, Bring it on, it's a great idea.

IMO this should have been done many years ago...dont Arsenal have a similar arrangment with a Belgian/Dutch club? Look how many players have come through their roster from youth and been successful...

If we can send 2-3 players over there for a full season and give them first team experience, especially Spearing & Darby, they will be raring to get into the thick of our 1st team matches.

Friday is the cooperation between Genk and Liverpool officialised. Manager Dirk Degraen flew to the United Kingdom to sign the last papers. Liverpool as from now therefore can stall players, who are superfluous or have no work permit in United Kingdom , at Genk . The agreement is also sealed coming month with exibitiongame between Genk and a b-team of Liverpool, as reported in the newspaper Nieuwsblad.

That's handy to have the friendly against our Reserves as they can spot talents to loan in.

I think Genk will gain more from this than we will, but hopefully we'll benefit by getting some young undiscovered talent when they're still cheap.

Well, it seems the cooperation will already be coming to an end!

      Translation:
"I am really disappointed in the way Roy Hodgson deals with this", says general director Degraen from Genk in HBvL. "The cooperation will temporarily be put on hold. We don't get any of their players. After 1 September we will evaluate and see if we can go through with this."

It also says that the deal was made when Rafa was in charge and that now the problem is that Roy does not want to loan out a couple of young players.

Id say the problem for Roy is that the players we would have sent on loan will now be required to fill the gaping holes in our first team squad.
