if we had pacheco and babel from start we would have won big time

Don't think it works that way the whole time.

For a change from the moaning and moping lets have a positive thread

Thats a very good win in a very tough place to go.
      Were through to the groups
N'Gog worked hard and the game will bring him on
Pacheco came on and looked sharp
Poulsen got another near 90 minutes under his belt as did Aurelio
We played without a few top players

And Babel looked okay when he came on, he can have his moments but he's no lightweight and poses more of a challenge for the defence.

First half we were poor....second much better and all in all a great result considering the team we had out.

Ngog was excellent second half, his head never drops and although he missed that header he kept going and running the channels.

Moan and whinge all you like all you negative pricks out there, but we have just gone to Turkey with our fringe squad and won.

      That is all :)

Not quite a fringe squad if it includes Reina, Johnson, Carra, and Kuyt.... also, Poulsen and Lucas are (unfortunately) our two first choice holding midfielders.  Was encouraged by the shift put in by Kelly and Pacheco did well when he came on.  But Lucas, Poulsen, Ngog and Aurelio all looked pretty poor, although Aurelio was being played out of position.

Either way, stoked about the win!  Can't wait to watch us pick up our first W in the league this weekend :)

They like to put us through it dont they!
Job done- although would have liked to see a more consistent game from our lads.
Pacheco definately needs more game time- i love the effort he puts in!

Can we make it about all the positives and not just those of tonight?

Well, I know a lot of people on here still want to be negative and pick holes, but that team was far from full strength, and that was no small feat going to Turkey with their hostility and then battling back from 1-0 down, when we could quite easily have folded.

We came back well in the second half, and got the rewards, thanks to players who came off the bench adding quality, something which we have been missing.

Once you get an in form Gerrard and an in form Torres, plus the return of Agger and Jovanovich, then we have the makings of a good team, with attacking threat off the bench. Babel, Maxi, Ngog and Pacheco.

Cheer up, the season has kicked off now IMO.

      sh*t.

He has a good record in Europe, and a slow start to the game perhaps, but he showed his attacking instincts to be in the right place when the ball bounced clear.

I'd quite happily keep Kuyt, he is a gem in Europe.

Kuyt is a grafter and is a very valuable player to us at this time. Well in Kuyt it's good to see you shut the media up once and for all.

I'm not one to really rub it in too much usually.

Buuuut after all you Trabz with Crabz fans coming on here and telling us how we'd be beaten...

Well boom motherfuckers! We played like sh*t with a fringe squad AND still won! Hahahahajaha!!!!!

F**k YOU ALL, TRABZ! F**k YOU AAAALLLLL!

 I agree, wasn't aware of our massive rivalry with them and didn't have any problems with them originally but their mouthy fans have made me feel like I should gloat about this win, making themselves out to be some kind of giant killers, well they're out, embarrassing.

Their fans were insanely loud for about 80 minutes of the game to be fair, as we've come to expect from the Turkish sides. Wasn't a particularly impressive performance but the game was a rather intimidating fixture, and a win puts things in a better light. The main positive has to be Martin Kelly putting in another solid performance and for me he's earned a start on Saturday, nice glimpse of Pacheco too and I think Johnson's again showed that he's the most skillful and natural wide player in the team think we'd benefit from his ability a lot more at right back.

What the lads did tonight took balls and I like balls.  :f_tongueincheek: :f_tongueincheek: Nah seriously to go 1-0 down to a sloppy goal and to then grab 2 goals in the last 10 minutes is a F***ing great effort. It was also great to see the impact Dani had, I think he is such a good prospect and deserves a start against WBA if Milan is still out. Kelly for LB spot also :)
