According to him today he did  not want to leave Liverpool, he was asked to submit a transfer request by the club when they decided they wanted to sell him to Chelsea. He said he was aware the club was trying to sell him over the summer and was very surprised. He said he would rather not comment on his relationship with Kenny.

I think we will find out this season it was a mistake selling the lad and especially for so cheap

Player leaves club and blames club? Oh my god! Thats never happened before.

He signed a contract and I am sure it didnt say he could have a rise if he was succesful. Nobody would be so vague.

The above worries me. Xabi's had a troubled relationship with Rafa. In spite of that, Xabi said his relationship was very professional. Raul looked a nice bloke to me. I wonder what the problem could be.

I reckon Kenny and Clarke both thought he was a shithouse.

And he's actually acting like a shithouse with all the comments he's making. F**k him, he's gone and we move on.

I thought the finger was a joke at Lucas, who played in Raul, following Frimpong doing the same when he was sent off

There were rumours linking him away from the club I remember and I dread seeing the news when I woke up on 1st September. Didn't want him to leave. Love the lad.

Anyways, regardless, I'll respect him and still keep him in my heart because for some reason, he's made a huge impression on me.

Respect him and he isn't judas to me.

      Pfft get a grip mate.

It was all about the money for this bag of sh*te. I was pro Meireles when he was here and would have kept him but he is not good enough to be on 100k + a week.

You must have not seen the way he was kissing John Terry and jumping on Sturridge when Chelsea scored both of their goals hugging and fist pumping as if he has been at Chelsea for a decade. That behavior is one of a complete sell out flipping the bird and faking an injury show he has no respect for this club so I am glad he has fu**ed off.

That's what the club have been claiming, I'm not so sure anymore, especially if you watch Suarez's reaction.

Reminds me of gobs***e at Wolves last season.

Couldn't give a sh*te what he says to be honest.

Was one of my players of the season last year, extremely gifted footballer and would of loved to have him in the squad this year.

But hes gone now, he plays for the Chavs and he isn't coming back. Wasn't happy with £30,000 a year? My heart bleeds, pass me the f**king violin. If he wanted a definitive improved contract offer its his agents fault for not getting it in writing.

Good player, good season for us, hes gone, keep your mouth shut and we can all move on.

Yeah. I had that hunch. I had wondered on the post match thread about the same. TBH, I was pissed off at that time.

Nobody would be f**king pleased ;D! But frankly, he did gave us a performance to be remembered but overshadowed it by going to Chelsea.

Not bad for a player that was surpass requirements for us.

Passed and moved exceptionally well tonight and made some wonderful tackles and interceptions. I can see him being an integral player for Chelsea.

I see Comoli has denied Raul's version of events. I hope this doesn't turn into an ongoing and very boring 'he said this' and 'he said that' debate.

If youre referring to the Leverkusen game he was nothing special at all.

Done no more then any other Chelsea midfielder out there the main thing we will miss is him getting into the box often but I am sure Stevie will make his runs look insignificant once he is back. Erasing this pr**k from our memories even quicker.
