How have we fared in the transfer market this Summer 2010
      Aug 30, 2010 03:03:04 pm
We Were quite busy this summer in the transfer market.

      Brad Jones (GK)
      Raul Meireles (DM)
      Fabio Aurelio (LB)
      Joe Cole (CM)
      Milan Jovanovic (LM)
      Christian Poulsen (DM)
      Konchesky (LB)

      *EDIT*

      Danny Wilson
      Jonjo Shelvey

We still do not have a solid cover for the Right Back position; and with Ngog out with a hamstring injury, we still have no cover for Torres; except of course we want Babel, Kuyt and Pacheco to fill in for him.

Have we done well this transfer season or have we just been busy but not achieving much?

      Also:

      http://www.premiershiptalk.com/2010/08/30/barca-starts-tapping-up-torres/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+PremiershipTalk+(Premiership+Talk)

Xavi talks about how Liverpool FC have sold Alonso and Mascherano to Real madrid & Barcelona respectively without getting quality replacements for them; and how Torres deserves to play with the best players in the world like he does with Spain. He went on to say Torres may leave if Liverpool FC end this season poorly. Also Barcelona will love to have him.

I wish to say this. Shut up Xavi; I bet Liverpool FC can still beat Barcelona at Nou Camp.

Xavi is such a c**t. Someone needs to kncok him down a peg.

On topic, I'll decide how we've done in the transfer market after I see all of our signings settle in and play a few games.

I'm starting to get pretty sick of the w*nk stains at Barca tapping up players and getting away with it, go F**k yourself Xavi.

I think we've done pretty well, to be fair. Considering Masch wanted to go and we managed to get Cole and Jova on a free and then bought in Meireles who I HOPE will be a solid addition.

I'm not too excited about Poulson but he has experience and it could well be that he was brought in with the aim of selling Lucas somewhere down the line. I was a bit gutted that Aquilani was allowed out on loan because I think he had a lot to offer this season. I'll be pretty annoyed if the move is made permanent.

Where I think we've fu**ed up is in letting young players go, most notably Nemeth who I was hoping to see on the bench this year.

Given the restrictions that he's working under, I think Roy is doing ok so far though I think we do need another striker and a right winger with similar pace to Jova would have been nice..

Not too bad. But we lost 15 players.

So the squad has been trimmed down a lot.

At least the young lads will get more games.

I see Ibra has left Barca on loan.
Reckon we can loan them Torres so to trim the wage bill...
Even our owners couldnt be so incompetent....Could they?

Quite decent considering the amount of "money" we have had to spend. Signing Joe Cole and Raul Meireles were two great additions, Jovanovic was worth the go at free.

I am of the opinion we need 1 new centre midfielder and 1 new striker. We could have done away without the striker addition but they decided to sell Nemeth for financial decision. I thought he was always good enough for the bench all along.

If we can get a good striker before 5pm tomorrow, I reckon we've done amazingly well to be honest, given the circumstances.  If we get a striker, we have probably just about strengthened the team, despite a negative net spend, not being the in CL and all our off-field problems  Disappointing to lose some promising youngsters, but it remains to be seen how many of them will make it.  No-one was fooled that it was going to be a "big summer"

Looks like Liverpool FC are still favourite to sign the following players:

      Wayne Bridges
      Scott parker
David Trezequet and maybe Ashley Young

      I too can dream.

Cole and Meireles are good signings, I'm undecided about Jovanovich, the rest are poor to be honest and if Carlton Cole comes I'll be adding him to the poor list.
