Fernando Torres has voiced his support for Rafa Benitez and insisted Liverpool must stick by their under-fire manager.

'Benitez has shown he is the right man to take Liverpool forward,' said the Spain striker.

'Now is the time for everybody here to stick together. We must be united to finish as high as possible in the Premier League.

'I am convinced that we will end up in the top four.'

i think liverpool should have a policy of not playing players while there injured. it usually backfires. put the players medical issues first not the clubs agenda. now stevie is playing while hurt.

The one problem I have with Fernando is how injury prone he is, he missed a large part of last season with injury and I have no doubt if he was fit for the whole of last season we would have won the league and this season looks like it is going the same he seems unable to play ten games in a row. When you are watching him play every time he gets a kick your heart is in your mouth.

I think it is daming on Rafa after 5 years he hasn't a suitable replacement for this lad when he is injured. Crouch, Bellamy and maybe Keane(I'm not sure about Keane though) would have provided us with a lot more back up then we have now.

When we sold Keane I thought we were meant to buy a replacement as Keane had replaced Crouch but for some reason we have been left very light up top.

I'm pretty sure 95% of his injuries since arriving here have occured on international duty.

I read on BBC that he has 19 league goals in 2009, only 1 behind leader Rooney.

Amazing effort considering the ugly tw*t has played in almost every game and Fernando has constantly been injured.

It is a great statistic fitting for the best striker in the world.

Must admit though I did panick when I saw this thread bumped I was fearing another injury of some sort dear God please forbid.
