I do think that its become a competition to come out with the most funniest negative comments toward our less favoured striker..
I've heard Neville Southall type "get back to where you come from" comments in this forum many times, just for being the least capable striker of the four..

I think he needs more of a run out for me to decide how good or bad he is but at the same time if one of our forwards have to go to make room for a world class frontman (villa) I'd probably choose him to do one..
He definitely doesn't warrent some of the fu**ed up sh*t people have said..

To be honest, I'm no great fan of Voro but when he's in the teamsheet I'll support him. I believe one of the reasons why he looked so ineffective so far is because he's too far away from the box and he's no Maradona to whizz pass defenders from outside the box. He's a goal poacher like Hernan Crespo but a tougher version and Rafa has to realise that. Put him inside the box to do the damage and it will be nightmare for the opposition defence. Now that we have asked him to play outside the box, he's totally lost and running around like a headless chicken. But first he has to get rid of his pony tail, I just can't stand it. Luckily he's not in the same era as the Anfield Iron, otherwise he'll get his head separated from the body.

till he is in the red shirt we must support him, then if he leaves (i hope) we can criticise him for everything but now we must support him.

I dont know about Voronin he has been treated a bit harshly by some people on the forum. I still think that he was umlcuky as he had a lenghty injury spell. Ok he is not a brilliant player but TBH hasnt really had a descent run of games, he wont be here in the summer. But i would still thank him for his efforts, it would seem like the fair and political thing to do.

You are right Dadorious - I agree with you. He hasn't even had the chance to break through & when he is given the chance he is played in an un-suitable position with a 'weaker' team behind him. There is no chance for him to click with any team mates, let alone score! Maybe Liverpool is a club that wants quality right from the get go, well it obviously is. Bellamy was sh*te so we chucked him, unfortunately Voronin has been sh*te for the reasons I said before, therefore he will be chucked too. I think he would play great for teams like Man City or West Ham.

Haha, Ra Ra Rafa, If I switch on the TV tonight and see Voro in the line up - I would lose all hope of Cup number 6 this year!  :lmao:

To those "fans" ripping Voronin apart you are an embarrasment. Be able to differentiate between a poor player or a poor playing team. At the start of the season when confidence was high, there was a lot of attacking creativity up front and we had a great start and I was very impressed with Voronin. In a confident attacking team who created space he showed how he was crafty and good with his feet. He forced defenders into mistakes and showed some refreshing guile up front. But somewhere along the line this season the whole team started playing really badly. They ALL looked bad. It was dire to watch, they couldnt stay tight, close down or show any attacking creativity to save their lives. It was not Voronins fault ! They were ALL awful. God knows how many draws we got in that period but it killed our season right off. Then Voronin got injured and has only just come back into contention for a place !! So how fans can come out with comments saying that he is "rubbish, not even fit for the premier league, get rid of him in the summer !!! etc" is absolutely unbelievable. By judging a player without having given him a chance to show what he can do in a good side playing a system where he can actually get a kick you just prove to all that you are a glory hunter who knows nothing about football. Do you really think LFC can afford to be buying proven Ukranian internationals to then see that before he has even had a consistent chance to prove himself fans are abusing him, calling him useless and wanting him out of the club ? Do you really think you are supporting LFC when you are doing that ?

He is not Fernando Torres agreed, but if you give him opportunities in the right system in a confident team he will create chances and score goals. He`s got an eye for a good ball and a has some welcome guile and craftiness up front. He did a lovely little pull back on the edge of the box in a game recently as a player rushed in on him and the player totally took him out whereas a player without that technical ability would have just been, as usual, dispossessed and another attacking move would have come to an end because we have players who have no ball skills who are constantly running into brick walls without the feet or the guile to make something out of it.

Like any player he needs a place in a confident team playing a system where he knows his role. If he gets that he will create and score goals. If the team can give this guy opportunities he will give them goals. Without doubt he offers more to the squad as a striker than Kuyt does. Kuyt could be completely replaced with a midfielder and, striker wise, he wouldnt even be missed. Up front Voronin will create much more than Kuyt.

Now if REAL world class quality comes up in the summer then yes, give him Voronins place, but thats the same for every position. Until we have Fernando Torres numer 2 wanting to sign for us and play up front with Torres Voronin can do a job for us.

      good post........very well said IMO.

Some people go on as if he did something disrespectful to the club. This has been his first year here and it has been disrupted with injury. If I can recall Aurelio had a similar first FEW seasons, and turned out now to be a very good left back indeed.

While I still think he should leave, I think that he can become a good player if given the chance ......and some support.

Well said. I think he started brilliantly, and even Kenny Dalglish was gushing in his praise after those pre-season goals and a great start to his league campaign. Also, the goal against Toulouse was top class.

He lost his way, but still created five of the 8 against Bestiktas.

Also, thought he was excellent at Fulham, bar his shooting. He created some great chances and passed the ball really well.

Five goals, despite missing half the season and playing in the hole, isn't bad. To see people mentioning on the BBC website that he's the worst ever Reds striker is just laughable - Meijer and Dundee were ten times worse.

As you say, if we can get better players, great. But at present we only have three strikers, with Kuyt now on the wing. I'd be happy to see Voronin as 4th choice next season, chipping in with a decent contribution.

Although I dont like hearing songs against our own players I recieved a funny text from a mate about Voronin.

New song about Voronin sung to the tune of the Torres song.

His hair proves he's not a red, Andriy Andriy
He has a go at Babel, Andriy Andriy!!
We bought Andriy from porntube, we claimed he was a free transfer,
Get out of here Voronin you are f*cking naf.

I so hope that Rafa sees sense and sells him or releases him in the summer. I couldnt believe that he was on the bench today against city instead of Crouchy.

What did Voronin do today ?

I know he didn't have long on the pitch, but ......

Can anyone answer me this question, should we keep him or not?

I just can't see any positives for keeping him, sorry but I think he's an embarrassment to the squad...........Rafa must see something in him though, something we don't see :-\

Rafa saw that his WAS (not now) Sevchenko's forward partner for Ukraine last season...and was going for a free... and had a decent pre-season... the rest... a disaster for him and more importantly LFC IMHO.
