He scored a few goals, had a very good pre season and in a few games, he ran his socks off. But overall, he's not a Liverpool player.

In general, the lapse of concentration he shown last season was very alarming. And when he got injured, I feel a lot of people were probably sighing relief more than remorse.

If I thought he was a talented player, then I'd be thinking we should give him another season to further 'bed in'. But I don't think he's anything more than average with the use of his feet. And it's his head where the problem really is.

But, why do I feel like Rafa will not be getting shut of him this summer and we'll be seeing him getting games ahead of someone that we feel could make more of a difference? Anyone else feel like that?

I hope like hell this is some sick PR joke from the club and not an indication he is actually staying...

Andrei Voronin is determined to show Liverpool supporters his true ability next season after a mixed first campaign at Anfield.

The Ukraine international arrived on Merseyside last summer on a free transfer from Bayer Leverkusen and initially impressed for Rafa Benitez's side.

However, the second half of the season saw injuries and a difficultly in adapting to new surroundings restrict Voronin's role in Benitez's first XI.

He is confident, though, that with another pre-season behind him he will be more acclimatised to English football and is gearing up for a successful showing next term.

"I think I started not bad," he told LFC magazine.

"I played a lot at the beginning and scored a few goals.

"Obviously the injury was a setback. There are a lot of good players here. It's competitive, so it's difficult to get straight back into the team after an injury.

"I'll do my best next season and hopefully I can help the team. I think I still have a lot to show the fans.

"When I first arrived here I didn't find it easy because I'd lived in Germany for 12 years.

"I didn't know the language but I'm gradually getting there. My wife had a baby here and, thank God, everything was okay. So I am getting more and more used to life here everyday.

"We are feeling much better than six or seven months ago. We like it here and don't have any problems with life in England or the town - except for the weather!"

May be the stubbling block in the Barry saga is that Rafa is including Voronin in the deal and O'Neil does not want him?

please get rid of this lad couldnt put up with another season being laughed at by utd fans over him in fairness to him he has tripping over the ball down to a fine art. He is sh*te one of the worst players ive seen playing for us, i pray that selling crouch means we wont be seeing more of this donkey next season, he should be released would be shocked if any club is actually stupid enough to pay money for him.

we do appriciate, we do support but we are also intelligent fans. How many times did you hear boos running round Anfield when Voronin's name was called out over the tannoy? How many people celebrated the goals Voronin scored? He's been appriciated, he's been supported but if he's not good enough then he's not good enough. If the case was "he's a l'pool player therefore we keep him and aren't allowed to say he's not good enough" then bring back David Speedie and Phil Babb, and maybe give Souness another chance as manager.

you can eat a chocolate tea pot, which is useful if your hungry.
unlike Torres or Crouch, there is no sense of anticipation that he will do anything. it's just as though he's making up the numbers.

Who knows? He might just turn out to be alright... then we could actually make some money off of him in mid season :D

Nah, what am I saying? We should support who ever wheres the red shirt no matter how sh*te he is. I'm definitely not a fan of Mr Porno but I sure as hell hope his form turns out to be good if Rafa decides to keep him. He must be seeing something in him if we haven't heard any rumours about him leaving.

Does anyone know a link to his "classy" goal from the game? I didn't get to see the match.
