Heh I know! At first it was just rumours and I was like 'nooo way would he come here' but there seems to have been 'talks' between Fowler and the manager and chairman of City.. Thing is he'd have really high wages, which would suck up all our invisible money anyway, then if he didn't score at least 15 goals he'd get slated!
Oh and most City fans hate 'plastic' Scousers and would get annoyed that people were down Ninian Park just to see Fowler play.. I don't care, it's still money from the gates innit!!!

It seems as though it's a straight fight between Cardiff and Sydney Nic.

It had been rumoured former Liverpool and England star Fowler was arriving in Sydney today to discuss his future with the club.

"We're in talks but I can tell you he is definitely not here," Sydney FC chief executive George Perry said today.

"I really don't know if he'll come at all."

Fowler has also been closely linked with Welsh club Cardiff City, who play in the English Championship.

Reports from Wales today suggested City had upped its bid for Fowler, with club chairman Peter Ridsdale said to have met with Fowler's representative this week.

Fowler, who scored 128 in 236 appearances for the Reds, is believed to have received interest from up to eight different clubs and a decision on his future is expected by next week.

"I've spoken to Peter Ridsdale and a firm offer, including figures and the like, is on the table," Fowler's adviser George Scott told the Western Mail.

      "It's a serious bid, Peter's not a daft lad, he'll know what's needed.

"Robbie knows he'll have to get a move on with a decision because he'll want to get into pre-season training as soon as he can.

"I expect he'll decide within a week to 10 days.

"I think I'm right in saying helping a Championship club up to the Premiership with some goals is a challenge that does greatly interest Robbie."

But Scott did provide some hope for Sydney fans.

"Saying that, we've got a couple of offers from overseas which could provide a nice lifestyle for Robbie and his family," he said.

"He could end up doing a David Beckham. But the lad's fitter than he has been for a while, he's still only 32, and he still thinks he can do a good job in the English leagues."

I thought he would've gone to America or Australia myself!

I have a bad feeling about him coming to Cardiff. I think Chopra is going (my heart is in pieces :'( ) and Fowler is no replacement, Chops scored 23 (I think) goals last season, I can't see Fowler getting that for us! If he did I'd be well happy! But.. ohhhhh I don't know.. Going to my carafan today and I'm glad it has SSN .

You've got Peter Ridsdale in charge, so he should have no problems picking up an extortionate wage if he wants to :D

      From the Western Mail today:

"CARDIFF CITY’S hopes of signing Robbie Fowler have received a huge setback after the Liverpool goal ace decided to hold out on making a decision about his future in the hope of receiving more offers.

Fowler is on holiday in Portugal mulling over the eight offers he currently has on the table.

Among those are bids from the Bluebirds, Leicester, Sydney FC, where Fowler recently returned from a visit, and Scottish giants Rangers."

Mulling over his options........... Scotland, Wales or Australia....... Hmm, that's a tricky one NOT.  :-\  ::)

Sorry nicola - you must of got mixed up there, I was replying to koolkidda's reply about Prescot Cables, oh and the cardiff faithful have never had a problem with us over-running your city for a couple of years then?

You're lucky the FA switched it back to Wembley cos if they would of kept it at cardiff for a couple of more years our mob would of completely annexed cardiff and made it anfield-south west or thereabouts

Nahh mate our mob would've killed yours :o Idiots!!

Fowler has turned down Sydney now! So it seems to be between us, Leicester and Port Vale. We're apparently the most likely.. But I think he may go to Port Vale because they're the crappest and a legend going there would be funny, and controversial.. and totally football nowadays! :P

Yes and I've heard a few Liverpool fans may turn up at your friendly with Stockport at the weekend just to watch him.

A result to definitely look out for now and would also be a nice little draw for the carling cup
