Did Lille buy a lot over the summer?

They seem to be doing pretty well considering they lost a few players over the summer.

I know they got Payet in, Cole obviously.

They are a good team really. Well managed, very well organized defensively.

Never watched Capoue. Was reading up on him yesterday after seeing you post about him again, Red5man.

Fits the bill doesn't he? Seems he can do it all. Statistically and watching as many videos as there are out there about him, he looks a very good young player with the limited information you can get on the internet.

How much is he? Was reading anything between 8-15m euros.

I'd think anywhere between that 8-15m Crouchi. I've been raving about him for around 12-18 months now, when everyone was in love with Sissoko. Capoue always was the one who stood out to me. He's big, strong, can play in defense or midfield. Can pick a pass and also scores goals with his head and feet too.

Like him a lot, would love him here.

Just a few words about standings.

Champion title should go to Paris or Montpellier.

Lille in good position for the third place.

4th position will be a clash between Rennes, Saint-Etienne, Toulouse... and Lyon in an optimistic vision. Marseille could come back too.

The last two clubs I mentioned, Lyon and Marseille, will meet for the League Cup final at Stade de France on April 14.

3 of them were in it this season, Lyon, Marseille, Lille.

1st and 2nd go to the group stage, 3rd go to the play offs.

Saturday evening 9pm (8pm in England) the derby Saint-Etienne Lyon at Geoffroy Guichard. (well not really a derby because not the same city, but we call this match like that anyway).

One more derby for us !!  A 1-0 victory thanks to Gomis, former player of Saint-Etienne. After his goal he took a shirt printed Abidal.

Lyon on a good run of victories, the last one yesterday against Sochaux.



Marseille stopped their run of seven defeats (!) with a draw at Nice (1-1). Marseille fans with to big banners in the visitor sector (almost empty) yesterday. : "SILENCE, WE SANK" and "SHAME ON YOU".



Marseille didn't loose the game but lost Souleymane Diawara, seriously injured (knee ligaments). He will miss the next six months.


Montpellier put the pressure on Paris with a 1-0 victory against Saint-Etienne. Olivier Giroud scored his 18th goal of the season. Paris will play Bordeaux this evening 9pm (8pm in UK).

Marseille's horrible last eleven matches...



Next match for Marseille on wednesday against... Montpellier, at the top of the league with Paris.

So happy Lyon will play two finals this season. Cup and League Cup.

Cup final on April 28 against... Quevilly. To give you an idea of the performance of this club, I read on twitter an english journalist who compared Quevilly to Oldham, saying that "to replace it in context, it's like Oldham reaching the cup final".

Well the ref didn't give us the pen ans we loss the final 1-0 vs marseille in extra time.

And yes, Toulouse twatted us, wasn't difficult as we play like sh*t. And "play" is a big word... On sunday we play Lorient at home, one week later the final of the Cup.
