It's funny to see how all the marseille's fans are wanking themselves about Barton.

About marseille, great season start for them. They are at the top of league. 4 matches, 4 victories.
Lyon 2nd of the league with three wins and a draw.
Paris finally won after three draws. They scored 4 goals so far. By they, I mean Ibrahimovic, already top scorer of the league.

At the bottom of the table Sochaux hasn't got any point. In my opinion Ligue 2 will welcome them for the next season.

Guess Ligue 1 isn't that popular judging from the activity of this thread.

Personally I have watched it a decent amount this season. Not sure on what team I want to adopt but it looks like France is about to get a whole lot more interesting with Monaco and their money rivalling PSG. Monaco roday signed Moutinho and Rodriguez from Porto for a combined fee of £60 million.

A player that impresses me every time I watch him is Aubameyang from St Ettiene. He has pace to burn, lots of skill and good finishing. Would love us to sign him!

Anyone else follow the French league?

Have Monaco sign players already? Thought they have a problem with that tax thing in France. From some views i read, it will give them an unfair advantage over the rest of Ligue 1 teams if they are excluded from that law. I'm unsure how it works, just following the developments as it unfolds.

Falcao also expected to join them next week.

Doesn't their stadium hold less than 20,000? Would be strange watching such talents play in front of such few fans.

Pretty sickening to see this happening in football. It is what it is though.

Mountings for that price is absurd though. Steal.

Monaco going to be the new PSG, they've bought James Rodriguez and Joao Moutinho for £60m and they're signing Falcao for £50m. :O

They've also signed Carvalho for free with Fabio Coentrao and Victor Valdes likely to follow. Ridiculous what money can do, this is a team that has just been promoted to Ligue 1, footballs a joke.

Its a sorry state of the game that players are more bothered about money than playing now. Robinho is a prime example, left Madrid for a newly taken over Man City...

Monaco set to sign Cabaye now after he passed a medical. Players are just lining up to get a huge payday with the tax laws there.

Good player he is. Would be a loss to Newcastle.

Really really average last season... also a loose screw at times. He's not a massive loss for them for me

Monaco start with a 4-1 win over Montpellier.

Falcao with the opener and a hat-trick for Oliviere.

PSG later at home to Ajaccio - on BT Sport.

EDIT its their second game not their first.

Cavani rescuing a point late on for PSG with a cracker of a goal but what a performance it was from the Ajaccio keeper and the woodwork.

Deserved to win it PSG but a great second half to watch.

Soft spot for Nice, not really for footballing reasons. I spent so long their as a kid on holiday, and my sister lived their for 2 years. She was welcomed so much that I grew an affection with the place and liked seeing the club doing well.

Moved here going on 2.5 months mate and have nothing but great things to say of the city and football club itself. Wonderful place that I recommend to anyone.

Wasn't Cvitanich the guy at Ajax (or PSV?) and went back to Argentina on loan?

      Go Nice!

He played at Ajax and was twiced loaned back to Argentina. One of the most productive strikers in Europe for past 2 terms at Nice. Very quality player that knows how to finish.

      Cheers crouchi :)

Cvitanich kind of suffered from the unrest and manager switches at Ajax. Was never really given time to adapt to the Ajax style of play either. When he just came to Ajax he was a very opportunistic poacher type of striker who struggled a little to play in the Ajax system. But even there his record wasn't bad in the few games he played for them, although he had trouble scoring against the better teams. Always looked a decent striker to me who would have succeeded there if given some more time and confidence.
