Some big names languishing at the bottom of the Bundesliga at the moment.

Dortmund are sitting dead last after yesterday's results. Granted, the Bundesliga just returned from winter break, but having watched a large chunk of their scoreless draw with Leverkusen, they look so much off the pace. They can't get relegated, right?

The funny thing is that they actually played quite well against Bayern in the league, in a game they lost mostly due to a questionable penalty. I haven't watched as much of Dortmund this season as I did the previous ones, so it amazes me that they are doing so terribly, given they looked pretty good against one of the world's best sides.

Yeah I watched that one too. They looked really up for it but got jobbed hard by the ref in that.

      By the way, tonight's result:

      Dortmund 0-1 Augsburg

      Correction: Dortmund 0-1 10-man Augsburg

      Seriously, what the f**k?

he has got a lot of support at the club but it just looks like he's run out of ideas and after 7 great years fresh ideas are needed, they keep resorting to launching it and they just have those type of players

Remember the headaches we caused FIFA when we won it?

Imagine the sh*t Dortmund would cause if they won the CL but were relegated. A second division team playing in a top tier cup competition. :lmao:

Kevin De Bruyne is a great talent. 8 goals and 11 assists this season if I'm not mistaken.

Chavs will probably resign him for £40 million next season.

I've been hugely impressed with De Bruyne this season. He was always a good player, but he seemed to have turned it up during the World Cup and carried that form into the Bundesliga season.

Dortmund win a few matches and all of a sudden they are 10 pts off a CL position, would not surprise me if they did make it.
There defence is still shocking though.

Bas Dost has 11 goals in his last 6 games for Wolfsburg.

I think he managed 14 in total the last 2 years prior wonder if this is a purple patch or he really is a striker that hit 53 in a calendar year for Herenveen.

The lad is only 25 too.

I expect him to keep up the scoring with the likes of De Bruyne, Schurrle and Bendtner (;)) in the team. It's a credit to their team that they're not full of world class talent yet find themselves closer to Bayern in the league than they are to 3rd place.

It's a shame Bayern's spending power prevents true competition in the Bundesliga, because Wolfsburg has built a pretty good squad. I do wonder if there was a bigger influx of money into German football, evenly distributed, would Bayern be so dominant?

That's a difficult question to answer. I've just looked at Bayern's team and it's stacked in some positions but lacking in others. Their squad is ageing - Lahm, Robben, Ribery, Dante, Alonso, Pizarro and Schweinsteiger all 30+. They're going to be in the market for some wingers very soon. Some of their players haven't played in a great amount of league games which could answer why the gap is smaller than some expected (including myself).

      Thiago & Martinez = 0 games, Schweinsteiger = 10 games, Lahm = 11 games, Benatia = 11 games, Ribery = 13 games, Alaba 15 games.

I'd love to see what that league would look like though with what you suggested - a bigger influx of money and for it to be evenly distributed.

They will finish 3rd in the end, Klopp is a great manager. I think they will go through in UCL also, and they're still in the German Cup too.

De Bruyne with 3 assists today and Bas Dost with 2 goals to take his tally to 13 goals in 12 Bundesliga games.

Gladbach took another step closer to a CL place with a 0-2 defeat of Bayern at the Allianz Arena. First time Bayern's lost a game there in 11 months!

Probably. Real might be a shout if they don't end with a trophy this year.
