even though i don't like the idea of meireles on the bench, i can understand it if he's being subbed in in the 2nd half to get the feeling and then starts on thursday before playing ManU

lookin forward to some attacking football, although i find it kinda hard to imagine with lucas & poulsen. but who knows.

Thanks for the team sheet, skyline.

I still don't quite like the idea of playing two not so attack-minded players in Lucas and Poulsen. I just feel it's too negative but let us hope we can come away with three points anyway.

Once Meireles gets his feet under the table and Joe Cole is back I doubt you will be seeing these 2 together in midfield much.

Sigh. I hope this man knows what he's doing...

Torres may end up frustrated from the lack of forward thinking passes. Hopefully if it gets dire Gerrard is pushed into the midfield.

I am not happy about Lucas and Poulson starting together as they have about as much creativity and forward play as a crab with concrete wellies on. I know Brum is a hard place to go and Meireles may not be match fit yet but why not at least throw Gerrard in the middle and put Pacheco/Babel or N'Gog up with Torres?

It might work against a hard working team but we have the quality to tear them a new ar*ehole and I think we should just take them to the cleaners nstead of showing them so much respect.

No-one does, but Cole is banned, Kuyt is injured and Meireles is not match fit.

      Hope you're right!

I would start Meireles though, Konchesky has just arrived and is already playing so there's no excuse other than the manager's option here really.

Hopefully we'll see Raul in the 2nd half though.

We will see Poulsen an awful lot more this season too. Roy's hardly going to swap him for Aquilani and then not stand over that decision - he sorta has to really - we'll have to get used to it.

We should have enough about us to win over the 90.

      Get into them!  :scarf:

Really disappointed with the team selection. Now lets just hope everyone can perform to their best and we have a cracking game.I am sick with people saying it ain't gonna be easy for us,we are still Liverpool and should be playing Birmingham off the park.Give it your all,you reds!

      First thing I thought.

We have a couple of injuries, but I believe we could have put out a more attack-minded formation with the players we have.

Disappointed, but let's hope the duo prove us wrong, dominate midfield, and help bring home the three points.

I think that once Cole is back and Meireles is settled, we will see what Roy is going to do with regard to formation and personel. Poulsen may feature alot this season, but as i said I do not think we will see much of poulsen and lucas together once we have cole and meireles ready.

I understand your passion mate, but Birmingham have not lost at home for a year and will be a tough nut to crack. We have to earn the right to play them off the park.
