They have been pretty inept at thievery... most of the money they sucked out of the club has gone to RBS!

Sorry for the late reply. Yes indeed Unirea beat Steaua at the weekend with a team with left-over players (Unirea is close to dissolution), and a few players transferred from Steaua's reserve team who was playing in the Second division.

Final score 1-0, Steaua had 70% of the possesion but only one clear chance. As I have said before, Dumitrescu could be the most idiot manager since I have been supporting the team from all points of view.
I would fancy a Liverpool packet with reserved players to win.

Can you help me with reccomandations for other forums where I could post my message seeking a match ticket and a match programme? Seems I did not have a lot of success here:)

What is this talk about Roy resting players? They have rested enough already. Better kick the ass of those that performed poorly against B'ham and start playing some real stuff. Roy is just not tough enough and no urgency at all to perform well. Players are paid in excess of 60k per week to play football not rest. Players that can't take 2 games per week should be shipped out immediately. We need more match practice to get sharper before facing the scums and Roy is resting players, what is in his mind, after we have performed so poorly the last time where passes seldom found its target. Let's hope Cole is hungry.

Its a catch 22 really. I want all our main players fit for sunday. The league is by far more important than Europe. But at the same time we need to get our top players playing together, winning games, gaining momentum and gaining confidence as winning is a habbit.

If we are to have true competition for places players have to be rewarded for good consistent performances. Last season the usual underperforming players were kept in the team week in week out. That had a detrimental effect on the morale of the rest of the squad imo.

In our heydey, there were no superstars, all players were treated the same. There was a fear of underperforming, a fear of losing your place in the team as you did not know when you would get back in. To me a culture of resting players for the sake of it brings with it a lazy attitude in some players. An attitude of I will be playing next week so its ok. Other players will feel like it does not matter how well they play as they will be dropped for the next game.

Everyone has to be on the same level, you play well you stay in. You play badly you get dropped and you have to train hard and wait for your chance to get back in. With this way you find out who is up for it and who is not.

At the moment we need to establish a rythem, and a cohesion which all good teams have. We need to get Torres, Gerrard, Cole and Meireles in tandem now. So with this in mind my teaam for tonight would have been a strong one.

I like the side 2. As I stated earlier I would have had babel up front with Pacheco in. Also I would have had shelvey in instead of Spearing. On the other hand I would have liked to have seen our strongest team starting tonight, to get some cohesion and rythem going into sunday.

If Pacheco isn't starting tonight, it's F***ing criminal.

Following reports regarding Hicks and Gillett's possible attendance at tonight's match against Steaua Bucharest, Spirit Of Shankly has enquired with Merseyside Police to ascertain whether this is true. Subsequently, after they themselves checked with the club, we have been informed that neither Hicks and Gillett nor any member of their families will be in attendance tonight. There will, however, be business representatives at Anfield to show potential purchasers around the club.

Even with the prolonged 'sale' of the club, Spirit Of Shankly reiterates the message that Tom and George are Not Welcome Here, and that for any potential purchaser we would welcome the opportunity to engage with them about the sale process and the role supporters can play.

Was just about to post that myself mate, I find the bit in bold, intriguing.

Can't wait for the match to start.  Hope its on telly here in Nepal. They are showing the Aris Thessaloniki FC v Club Atletico de Madrid on Ten Sports.  Usually they show the other game in Zee Sports but the Zee Sports web site has been down for some time now and I can't check the TV schedule.   Hope they show it 'cos I'll be staying up for our match.  Can anyone confirm its on zee sports?
