Ngog doesn't seem to make chances. He scores goals. Fair play to him, hope he starts scoring more in the Premier League now.

Cole my man of the match tonight,closely followed by Spearing ,good performances from all ,good second half from the reds ,

Shaky start that had me blood boiling but i was well pleased with the second half. Ngog is enjoying himself in this competition, he looks a different player under Roy.

Utd are fu**ed Sunday, Lucas is scoring crackers now.

Meireles is a tidy little player, i like what i seen for his first 90mins. Can only get better.

Good game boys, but we can't let up.

We need Johnson and we need him Sunday against Utd. Kelly did okay that is all if Johnson put in the same performance he would be slated. Decent result I thought the performance was fairly poor though.

Now, that was a much, much better second half performance by all the players.

It was all Liverpool and a thoroughly deserved 4-1 win if we forget about the first half. Glad Joe Cole got his first goal in a Reds shirt. Maxi Rodriguez did really, really well in the secold half. It would be difficult for me to pick a man of the match because I felt Joe Cole, Maxi Rodriguez, Jay Spearing and Martin Kelly did really well. Even Raul Meireles was pretty impressive. Ryan Babel did well as well. Last but not least, Daniel Pacheco and Lucas, who scored a cracking goal, showed why they deserve to have started the game. Also fair play to David N'gog, who scored a brace after a very quiet first half.

I would really stick Martin Kelly on the right of the defence now and push Glen Johnson, who is poor defensively, up in front of Martin. I'd give Maxi a start on Sunday as well.

This is the result we all have longed for for the last few months. That was the performance we longed for for this new season. Love it that many from the academy made an appearance to go along with that 4-1 result.

So made up with that result even though David N'gog got me result wrong by scoring the fourth.

Meireles and Cole impressed me tonight, good awareness and creativity from this two. Really good to watch them on the ball. They have the technical ability to keep the ball and make time to look and play the right pass.

Pleased with Spearings effort. Great to see N'Gog bang in 2 more and a belter from the new Davy Fairclough Lucas!!

All I can say is some of our more senior players have been embarrased by our some of our less senior players tonight.

Reina not a lot to do, not a lot he could have done abou the goal.

Konchesky steady without being spectacular.
Soto at fault for their goal, but reedeemd himself winning the penalty.
Agger brought the ball out of defense well, played some lovely passes.
Kelly great game for the Youngster, looked solid and provided an outlet all night.

Babel solid performance tonight, he looked well up for it.
Spearing played some nice football and tried to pull the strings all night.
Meirles grew as the game wore on always available to receive the ball and likes shot.
Maxi tireless tonight and worked hard for the team.

Cole, sublime goal and showed his class tonight.

N'Gog touch of the Torres's tonight bullied all night, looked off the pace and then grabbed 2 goals.

Special mention for Lucas, scored the goal of the night, that really was Gerrard Esuqe and an early contender for goal of the tournament.

I know! Normally watching him play is as annoying as sh*t on your shoe!

If anything, it shows how much confidence can breed when you actually have a go and up the tempo. Something to remember.

Now, all we have to do this Sunday is play the same team.   

David Ngog - can't hold up the ball for sh*t, but can surely stick it in the net.  Spend the whole first half shouting at him and turns out, he was listening.

Joe Cole MOTM for me.  His movement, touch and general link up play is a class above anyone else in the squad.  A great game from someone who has barely played in a month.

Also impressed with Spearing, Babel, Kelly and Maxi.  Big shout out to Lucas for his goal too, very happy for him doing that in front of the Kop.

i think it is a wake up call for Lucas. He knows that he wont be first choice all the time anymore due to:

1) Poulsen is a favourite of Roy.

2) Meiriles is a very good player and is better than him in terms off all around gameplay.

3) Spearing done really well today and should be given more chance especially in the Europa League.

Nice timing to get a belter of a goal from Lucas, competition for places can motivates the players to outperform each other and Liverpool will gain from that.
