http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roy_HodgsonHis early coaching career was closely linked to that of his friend Bob Houghton; they worked together at Maidstone, Stranraer and Bristol City, and they both worked in Swedish football at the same time. The pair are credited with transforming Swedish football, bringing in zonal marking for the first time.[8]
Now having recently learnt and been humbled that you shouldn't believe all that you read on Wikipedia (especially league positions
) I can only say that I found this gem in the last few days.
Quite frankly I dont know what he is playing.
I did say that in an early game under Hodgson I did find myself watching the TV again at corners and set pieces and noticed Pepe was off the valium.
I actually (TRUE!) saw at least one defender on a post at a corner.
So I would like to be enlightened at to what he is doing.
It seems so would the players.
Maidstone, Stranraer and Bristol?
Sounds like places you would stand as a trainspotter.
PPS. How can you be in Stranraer and Sweden at the same time?
