Anyone else reckon this is a false dawn and it'll come and go with no activity whatsoever?

Hope you're right mate but I'm going to take a glass half empty view of things with regard to ownership until I see something in the way of an official televised press conference confirming handover. The newspapers (from the broadsheets to the rags) are filling column inches with this constant stream of sh*te. Not even worth the read.

Are the investors in this new murky scheme of his really going to want him taking their hard-earned and using it to bail himself out of a sticky situation of his own making, with slim to no chance of them seeing a decent return on their money?

When I saw the article in the Echo my guts dropped when I read the bit about it starting trading on the 7th but I just can't see it. Maybe I'm just being wishful and deluded.

Whoever puts up the money won't need an ROI as such. They'll get more than a handsome profit on the interest...all paid for by LFC no doubt!!  My guess is that RBS would much prefer a drawn out power struggle where they continue to gain interest payments so to that end, they'll give Hicks more time. Don't expect any good news on the immediate horizon.

They certainly missed the sixth scenario out where the board met to disccus bids up on announcing they are going to accept a bid, the owners tries to sack the board a press statement is released on the offal from the board, quickly followed by one from the owners, then only to be announced the next morning a bid has been accepted.

Pah the press know F**k all. ;D
