      Windows update
      Oct 13, 2010 04:47:33 pm
Anyone else have the Windows Update icon (little yellow shield) in the taskbar? Both PCs in the Lab at work have it and one in the office and it's progress doesn't seem to get much past 6% before going back to zero.
Was just wondering if it was an issue with our network or just Windows being retarded.

Might help saying which Windows version you are talking about?
Sounds like Vista or? No such problems for me, but I have 7.

I've got the yellow shield but I'm ignoring it, always have done as when I got my PC repaired the guy stuck on service pack 3 and have had no problems.

Yup go for Service Pack 3.
If it still gives the problem, ctrl+alt+del -> Processes -> then you gotta disable the update thing. Don't remember the exact name of the option, but just go through the list, you'll figure it out.

Personally I rate Vista way above 7. I dislike 7 with a passion. It's unreliable, unsecure, annoying and looks F***ing horrible.
