Feels like this is going to be an Ian Ayre headed home early day. A lot of bluster, but nothing to show for it.

Oh well...it was nice to think we were going to actually do some real business there for a couple of days.

I think they always have been.
Klopp was apparently their number one choice, and although they were bigging BR up, it seems more and more that they had reservations about his ability, and as soon as they knew they could get Klopp, they binned him.

Hard luck for BR, but better for the club and the team.

Me and you have led the way I believe in constructive criticism/questions

But I agree, if we land VVD (not convinced but still wonder why we aren't looking elsewhere and live in hope) and Lemar ( I believe is the replacement for Coutinho, potentially still next summer than this ) added to Chamberlain, Solanke, Salah, Robertson and Kieta deal done for next season then I will tip my hat to them and even if I don't forgive mistakes of the previous 6 years or so I think it will be showing they have learnt and are taking us forward.

I really hope I'm in here tomorrow offering a massive tipping of my hat and a slight eating of it

I really think if we pull those two off we may well be spending for two years rather than one

"Intent" and "tenacity" only [so far] buddy.

As ever the real proof will be in the eating... i.e. - after all is said n done; after all the huff and puff, what has actually been accomplished.  😉

Because you come across as so negative mate.

It's called "pessimistic" and it's due to the last 8 years of seeing us flounder in the transfer market more often than not. It doesn't mean I'm suicidal or upset to the extent that I don't enjoy my life. I woke up with a smile on my face and will go to bed with one as well.

Doesn't mean I can't be passionate (negatively and positively) about this football club.

I wasn't aware that the only way you could be a bonafide supporter was if you ran round smiling, giggling and playing with your tinkle all day long as you think only good thoughts about FSG and Klopp and whoever else you want to throw in there?

Sale of Sakho will mean Klopp's net transfer spend at LFC has been Ā£8M per window.

I'm blown away that it's so low. I mean I never would have thought that's all we've spent each window under Klopp. That's absurd and I'm not sure how you could expect any manager, world class or otherwise to be able to build a title winning, CL side with that sort of net spend.

Do you remember what his net spend was at Dortmund?

      Dortmundā€™s Spending Under Klopp:
      Money spent: Ā£130.13m
      Money received: Ā£84.89m
      Net spend: Ā£45.23m
      Average per season: Ā£6.46m
      Players signed: 43

Seems that the manager and the owners are a penny pinching rabble rousing match made in heaven.

Klopps good, but this is the big money Premier league. He's kidding himself if he thinks can be done (winning the league) regularly this way.

Yep, one thing doing it on the cheap in Germany, he's got another thing coming here.

Guess we didn't spend that Ā£175mill today because Barca didn't offer that for Coutinho

      Orchard

      Honest question here:

Do you believe in today's world that any team is going to consistently with the league like we used too..or how United used to going forward?

Personally  I think the age of dynasties in the PL are a thing of the past, the top 4-6 clubs will fight it out every year and none of them will do it back-back.

No I don't think there will be 1 consistent winner, but the likelihood of us being regular contenders and sometimes winners is reliant on keeping up with the Jones's so to speak.

I don't think the issue is how much is spent its more about not strengthening our weakest area.

Lovren, Klavan and Gomez who although is talented but not proven at all - I cant help but think that we will come to regret that decision.

We'll spend most of it next season when Coutinho goes. Of course you can be sure our net spend will one again be laughable.
