Sat down with a pint to read this mess. It never disappoints, especially when it’s only 2 games in. Precious stuff.

Whether it's two games, or twenty, we can clearly see there's a problem in midfield

You had problem last year and still little done about it. Judging by what Klopp said you won’t be buying anyone.

He said money and contractual. So both.

So money is an issue here. Not the only issue. But an issue. Indicating we don't have the money. But we're £10m in the green? How does that figure?

No, not indicating that we don't have the money, that we aren't going to spend the money it would take because of his contractual obligations. Just stop.

Every player has contractual obligations. We pay to remove them from that contract or else we'd sign them on a free no?

And we still got to within a point of winning The League and a Goal away from winning Number 7.

      Remarkable achievement.

Sure, but you are the one that provided the quote from Jürgen that it was due to money and contract. Are you saying it doesn't have to do with his contract then? Why are you calling Jürgen a liar?

I'm saying it has to do with both. You're not.

We've spent £5m this year. Surely money isn't an issue. Even if Bellingham costs £80m. Great teams buy great players and great players aren't cheap.

I know enough about football to know we need more than one midfielder.

The "why are you calling Jürgen a liar" is very funny. You sound like a journalist trying to make a story that isn't there

if you think we had a problem winning two trophies runners up in the league and CL final how do you define a problem like UTD.
All teams can improve their squad and form and injuries play their part but only City have virtually two Premier league teams that could both possibly win the league. Our creativity doesnt really come from Midfield does it down the flanks and our front three have been our source of goals and assists maybe that needs changing but its worked pretty well for us over the past 5 seasons or so just getting close to City and denying them more silverware is worthy of note at least we give them a run for their money

I didn’t say you had a problem winning two trophies runners up in the league and CL final. I said you have a problem with a ageing midfield. Two new midfielders before transfer window closing would make all the difference to your challenge for the Premiership.

You’ll probably still finish second in the league anyway, such is the strength of our noisy neighbours. It’s possible they may repeat Arsenal 03/04 season and not lose a game this f***in year.

I suspect had we not be so careless defensively at Fulham (the pen) and also against Palace (gaping hole) this whole midfield "crisis" might not be as alarming as many now think.

the midfield were not responsible for either problem. As far as the name in the frame Bellingham he isnt for sale having sold Haaland Dortmund will not be in a hurry to sell him and if they do it will be valuation plus a premium and FSG dont work that way.
Harvey is 19 Carvalho 19 how young do people want our midfield to be. Hendo Fab and Harvey will be enough for UTD I am more concerned with were Mo is and our goals are coming from and stop going behind in games none of which is a midfield problem

It would be a bit harsh to call you defence based on the two games played so far. Yes they were poor but generally been pretty solid.

Your right, the last two games the midfield have been  ok! However, as a whole simply won’t be good enough this year, you lack consistency in this department.

Well send a strongly worded letter to Herr Klopp via Kirkby telling him of your concerns.

      Not always.
Great players can also be produced, but they'll never get that chance if we continously go Footie manager every time we get an injury in the squad.

FSG bought us for £300m. Read the other day, that they value LFC at £6 billion. Eye-watering.

      That's doubled then!!

Wasn't so long ago they were reckoning value to be about £3 billion.

No, I literally said it's because of his contractual situation that the money is an issue.

Bellingham won't be 80m. There's literally no way he goes for less than 100 or even more.

I apologise if I gave the impression that the defence was wholly to blame for our inability to win either of the opening fixtures. The incidents leading to the goals against us were by popular consensus down to careless mistakes at the back. The original post was in part to highlight it wasn't exclusively the midfield which was to blame, and therefore this running saga of needing additional personnel is perhaps over cautious.
