LfC does not hold any "gravitas" when negotiating these days we must be a laughing stock. Going into a negotiation with a closed mind is pointless its best not to start at all. Ayre is a lightweight and FSG clueless about football and its bizarre way of doing deals. It isn't going to change so if you cant work within its framework its probably best to get out.

You will have to change your avatar aswell fella.

Indeed, might look for a new one tonight - or perhaps log off and grab a few beers and relax... Until after the game and if we lose I shall be in the NESV & Knee Jerk thread for a few hours...

Jesus man are you really that naïve?
Why do you think we don't see JWH from one Preston Guild to the next?
Ayre might just as well sit on John Henry's knee and have his mouth operated via an orifice in the dummy's back.
Do you think Ayre has any say in disposing of the company funds?
He is subject to a strict brief from the very top, it would no doubt be along the lines of - 'set an opening bid as a limit, any bid above that we are not prepared to match, we will not pay more than what we consider a fair price.'

      We are fu**ed.

Ayre is the one who for 3 weeks stood firm of 8m bp, then finally we reach a 10m agreement when Mata to Utd starts gathering wind. If Ayre and FSG were prepared to offer 10m then F***ing offer 10m before all the other teams make moves. Ayre thinks he can wait out the selling team and it hasnt worked.

Or maybe we were never planning to buy the guy at all! Just put the word out there that we're interested, then say "WE TRIED", just like "WE TRIED" to sign Mhikitarian, Costa...........

      Ayre doesn't work full stop.
Ayre failed to work on five previous occasions when supposedly attempting to sign players, who does it benefit financially when our agent refuses to increase the opening bid?
Not the team and that's for sure.

Need to F**k off, their ambition clearly doesn't match us and they aren't even spending what the club generates (as they said they would). Best chance in years of establishing ourselves in the top 4 and possibly push for the title but they can't even spend 11mill on a player the manager wants.

I stand to be corrected and there is still time this window but right now I feel like this: F**k off FSG and take your PR machine with you. cu*ts.

JWH isn't at the negotiation table, Ayre is.  FSG have backed LFC but its Ayre who cannot get the deal done.
Think about it mate: JWH has proven in the past he is not afraid to blame sack those he feels can take the rap for any of his F**k ups. The fact that Ian Ayre remains firmly ensconced would hint that he's been doing business with JWH's full blessing.

That said; if this window closes with yet more failure and if there's enough of a sh*t-storm from fans... JWH will definitely look to blame sack Ian Ayre. In my opinion, of course.  >:D

At some point [if they are genuine about ambitions to be winners and the best] JWH and the lads will have to spend on quality and quality costs. Why that time is not "now" [last Summer/this January] F**k only knows. Look at it this way - should we qualify to play in the Champions League we'll get stuffed out of sight with this squad. So what's the plan; wait 'til we qualify then try to buy five or six quality players? At what cost those players; where will the money come from: Dunkin Donuts?

We should have had a defensive midfielder lined up at the start of the month before Lucas got injured.

The sooner Ayre is kicked out of the club the better and the jury is still out for me on JWH's lot.

      Bang on mate, really is.

Ayre and Co are conducting business exactly how they want them to.

The squad has got more holes than a Dunkin Donut factory yet we are pulling off sponsorship deals whilst we are effectively clinging to fourth and ultimately a striker who is one of the best on the planet.

Everton have tweaked, The Mancs have signed the 3rd best player in the league last season and we have dilly dallied trying to sign a player for a position which is no more than our third top priority.

Still a week to go but unless there is a huge shift in FSG's mindset then I'd expect a grovelling letter before I'd expect them to pull up any trees in the transfer market by way of speculating to accumulate.

If we do make fourth it will be despite them and certainly not because of them and if we don't, in a season as fu**ed up as this one that presents such a chance for us, then we could be set back quite a few years as star players will leave before any will come and teams around us will crack on.

I'd go further mate and state that Ayres is a virtual JWH representation. Such extreme dictate can have no margin for error and cannot be diluted. As posted previously Ayres is one half of a ventriloquist turn.

glad to hear on the Anfield Wrap that they very much endorse what some of us have said on here.Ayres is a puppet and if FSG don't understand how the transfer market works they need to walk away from LFC.Brendan is being stuffed and it will be him who will carry the can for any on the field failures

they have brainwashed us all into accepting mediocrity. Today we were all pleased  and relieved to see John Flannagan back and the lad is a good young player but Liverpool FC should not be putting such pressure on young kids especially in what is a vital position. We had Kelly and Cissokho as fullbacks today I challenge anyone to name another fullback pairing as bad as them. Kelly has lost his way after a series of injuries and the other lad should not be in a red shirt. Now we are desperate for more £7mil signings who can come into the team and make a difference....not going to happen.
