Can't really disagree with Carra but it might at least dampen the expectations of a few in here who seem to think we are capable of challenging for the title.

Yup, the biggest problem we have right now isn't the owners, it's not even the players, and it's certainly not the manager. It's the middle mangement layer. Edwards and his ilk who repeatedly fail to do sufficient quality of business in the transfer windows. Until that's sorted out we'll continue to qualify for the Champions league every four or five years only.

Who appointed the "middle management layer"?
Who continues paying them millions while they F**k up gloriously?

Some might say the "middle management layer" are merely a distraction while the real problem is more entrenched and dependant upon diversion to mask a total lack of commitment and guile.

Don't know if it's "proof" enough or what you're after FMS but, for what its worth...

Last ten League Cup winners include: Man United x 3, Chelsea x 2 and Man City x 2.

Last ten League Champions include: Man United x 4, Chelsea x 3 and Man City x 2.

Big teams have a winning mentality; big teams win trophies (their fans demand it of them)... wee teams are happy to "compete". In my opinion obviously.

      Demand better Reds. 😎

      Pots, pots and more pots.

That’s what great clubs and teams crave.

It’s even more than that though it’s symbiotic.....

Liverpool and trophies. I see it as a love affair - when it’s gone for one party its dead for you both and you’ve settled for “co-existing”.

That ain’t love and it ain’t life.....

I don't think they win the bigger trophies because of the League Cup. Big teams can win these trophies because they have the big pockets and the big squads. We don't. So there has to be an element of prioritisation given our current situation.

Before the present owner I always believed we were a big team.

FSG have done a great job at lowering expectations.

It's the type of job where everyone must agree John Henry deserves to make ÂŁ300 million

Comolli: Liverpool owners FSG set a transfer budget of €10m per player.

Shock horror! 🙄 Of course it's not true, and the manager had the choice to spend as much money as he wanted with no restraints, isn't that right??

      Which all sounds rather depressing.

Just looking at the league table and I don't think we're any closer to winning a league title. The manchester clubs look like they will be miles ahead of us by the end of the season, and at the end of it all, as boring and as sh*te as it is; it's all down to their spending power.

You have to either be very special at what we do or very lucky with your timing to bridge the financial gap between ourselves and them.

      We have been neither.

The shocker for me is the Echo would have anything remotely negative to say about FSG!
The net spend over FSGs time here speaks for itself anyway!

Regardless of how bad the defence is or how poor results the are, the owners will have hundreds of millions in profit to share between them.

The not so good news is we have an identical record when Brendan got sacked so you could say we've not really progressed,  the good news however is Leicester were only 3 points ahead at this stage and won the league. The other good bit of good news is that we've still to play Salah, Coutinho, Lallana, and Mane in the same line up, let's see what happens.

You couldn't play them all in the same line-up, has to be either one of Coutinho or Lallana for me, as our midfield is already powder puff at the best of times.

Is that fair..they could have cashed in on Coutinho and as he wanted away they would not have kopped much stick. But they turned down ÂŁ100m+. Money men they might be but they haven't had that bad a record here.

Michael F***ing Edwards. Vile faceless c**t of a man who will no doubt do the same job on Klopp as to what he did with Brendan (effectively getting him sacked).

They all go on about “character” being a key criteria for recruitment. What sort of character are our scouts and Edwards actually looking for? Nice lads, with nice hair, who won’t rock the boat and will always be on time for the promotional kit photo shoots?

We are being ruthlessly exposed in precisely those areas where all of us F***ing said before the season started that without further strengthening we would be royally fu**ed.

I cannot f*cking believe that after sweating over our mighty top four finish last season we now find ourselves pissing this one well and truly up the wall.
