Acquired for $475m and Henry is apparently willing to entertain offers of $2bn for LFC, as reported in the NY Times.

If it were some UK rag carrying the rumour it could be dismissed out of hand, the NY Times is not known for spreading soccer hearsay and is nearer the action. There might be some meat on the bones of this.

      Funny you should mention time.

They're still wearing bell bottoms in Widnes.

      Bits to chew on:
The NY Times owned a minority stake in the Boston Red Sox up until 2012. Could they be still privy to behind the scenes discussions?
      On the other hand....
John Henry's Boston Globe and the NY Times can viewed as business/news competitors, especially after the NY Times sold the Boston Globe to John Henry in 2013. Since then, the NY Times has become a more agenda driven publication using manufactured narratives. Stirring the pot and creating discomfort for Henry could simply be a game among rivals.

IMO......Henry will never relinquish Liverpool as long the club maintains its seat at the special table where the largest slices of the TV pie get carved up and dished out.
And this "Super League" overhang, regardless of its validity........talk about financial leverage creation for Europe's elite teams. These special clubs will be rewriting the rules to their $$$ benefit regardless of the direction football takes.
Liverpool's valuation will skyrocket in the next few years.
Let's just hope LFC doesn't mess up Champions League and Top 4 Premier League this year.

Think it would have been his grandfather who sold the German Luftwafa the fuel additive necessary to bomb the sh*t of the UK.
Nice family anyone who likes Alien agendas like David Icke for instance should look at this family we don't need Aliens we already have them here.As for American Bankers jeez that's another wonderful story.

Well off topic but become a big fan of Icke recently but still trying to get my head around the reptiles and alien stuff.

Not sure we are for sale at all really. Pretty sure there's more money in the asset just yet.

Is it time to give the owners a bit of credit now ?

They have put a lot in place that has helped the club get to where we are now , they got pelters when things weren’t going well so maybe time now to give them an appreciative nod

They employed Klopp and backed him

They have Edwards the power to support Klopp

Both two key appointments that put us where we are

Shanks used to say the owners are just there to sign the cheques and that’s what they are doing - if it’s not money for players it’s sorting the ground out and with rumours of the games biggest shirt deal about to happen then it’s time to say they guys know what they are doing commercially and they are learning to trust the right people on the football front

Not for me because they spent so much time trying to do things on the Cheap and got lucky with some big player sales to Barca and they still insist on the club being self funding so no they are not good owners for me they are absent owners and they should remain so.
The way they treated Kenny should alone be enough for Liverpool supporters to never forgive them.

Credit for the last 3 years - yes.

Balanced - however - by the fact it took them 5 years to get there.

Some will finally give the owners the credit they’ve been due for years now.

I’ve personally always said they’re absolutely rock solid owners and we could do a lot worse. They’ve learned lessons along the way and are driving us in the right direction with savvy investments and employing the right people.

Now for some giving the credit will be impossible as they will have to admit they’re wrong, a pill some will be unable to swallow which is a sad reflection on them

Top of the league at last with a 6 point cushion!!
While we have gone through several managers and unflattering league positions the owners have maintained the same business ethic throughout and the heady heights we now occupy would seem to be down to some alternative element.

I refer of course to the manager who single handedly has turned our fortunes around.
Any other candidate would in all likelihood see us floundering under FSG's business ethic.

Just imagine, if not for the mistakes made and lessons learned, we would not be in this exact moment, exactly where we are all so happy to be. Surely, this means they’ve done something worthwhile and worthy of at least faint praise.

that reflects on Kenny not the owners the man is Liverpool through and through see if you can work out why he would say that and why he was snubbed at the FA Cup final. You may need to lye down for a while but give it your best shot

If Jürgen walked the club would be as it was before his arrival, going nowhere.
"Mistakes made, lessons learned"  would be of no consequence  without our saviour who provides success in spite of the aforementioned business ethic

This was the first time under their tenure where I looked at the squad and said something like no excuses this time if we don't deliver trophies.

We have strength in depth in almost every area now from goalkeeper through the spine of the team and in forward positions.

It doesn't take a genius and now the money has been spent (alongside a man in Klopp whom very rarely buys a bad player) we are seeing the rewards.

Last season we got to the end of the season crawling through games, dropping so many points and unable to give our best in the CL final. I'm not expecting that this time around!
