I think they are clearly fantastic business men. My issue isn't with their abilities or their acumen (we just won the CL ffs and had our second CL final in two seasons) its more a case of what happens if they decide to leave and take their profit out of the club.
At the moment we couldn't be in better hands lets hope they still feel the same way in 5 or 10 years time

This management group has owned the Boston Red Sox for 17 years and has created one of the biggest cash cows in sports. Despite that they continue to pour money into the team (highest payroll in the sport) and win championships on average every 4 years (no team has been better).
This management group has bought, created, or collected multiple major assets during it tenure and sold none.
This management group owns LFC, a team that has a seat at the table and gets an oversized say in the PL on how the pie gets divvied up.
The management group owns a football team guaranteed to be part of a super league if those lofty plans ever come to fruition, guaranteeing obscene riches.
This management group understands expanding franchise value rather than syphoning off cash to line pockets will create multiples of wealth long term.
This management group has only scratched the surface of creating and expanding revenue opportunities.....

      yet.....

Once a month I read these lazy posts about ownership taking out profits out at the expense of the product on the field....an action this group has never ever done.

You clearly don't see the big picture.

another idiot with a myopic point of view who cant read and understand posts. J.Henry is 70 years old in just a few weeks not 40 he may well say that's me done I want to enjoy my retirement whilst I have my health it happens. Whatever picture you see I see the future of the club for the next generations and worry what will happen if they sell up and we end up with another type of leveraged buy out like Hicks and Gillette. This bubble Football is enjoying will not last for ever so the picture I see is actually way more forwarding looking than your love for FSG.

My god.....I'm guessing your clutching your dooms day survival kit and dwell just two hops from your survival bunker.

This football "bubble" you seem to think is underway now is really only in its infancy and LFC is part of the elite group of clubs that writes the rules. You are aware of that ...right?
When....not if....when LFC joins the Super League and these lucky members are not forced to share revenue with the every member of every European league, LFC's valuation will sky rocket. Think Henry will forego this opportunity? Think Henry would rather sit on his yacht more instead of in the front row of everyone of his sports properties. You clearly haven't been paying attention to what this guy is all about.

Your LFC estate planning phobia? Another ailment you should seek treatment for. Guaranteed these tax man worries that make you so twitchy were resolved months before Fenway Group ever took ownership. It's not their first rodeo and these guys are legit finance experts...not sad sack worriers.

      But carry on. Twitch away

I'll be honest no one gives a F**k about the Red Sox. Haven't you worked out this summer we're ten times bigger than the Red Sox could ever dream of being.

it's probably much about knock-off merchandise sold in large volumes in China and other international places rather than the guy selling scarves outside Anfield on match day.

Of course it is.That's why i didn't get the need for the likes of colfc, afcliverpool, sos,to get all uptight about it.

      Melwood has been sold.

Sold for around £5 million to a group involved in building affordable social housing.

      Good move by the club.

      Yep.

CorballyRed going beserk about this on Twitter, history of Melwood etc etc.

For me Melwood doesn't hold any real special affinity so not bothered about selling off a training ground.

I don't know anything about the company but from reading the offal

“Our plans are still at an early stage but will be driven by providing quality affordable homes that address local need, including specialist housing provision where older people and those with additional care needs can lead sociable, fulfilling and independent lives.”

I mean it sounds better than selling it to a company that was going to drop a hotel or a tesco on it...We could win the treble, drop 500 million on transfers all in the same season and Corbally would find something to moan about.

It's not been the best Summer with low spending and trying to trademark 'Liverpool'.

There was a real feel good vibe around the club and I'm worried that yet again the club has missed its chance to capitalise on what's gone before.

I'm looking forward to the football starting again and all the politics to be put to bed.

Sometimes though, they just dont help themselves with the supporters.  :confused-smiley-013:

Think it's to do with the traffic in the area already being gridlocked. Stuff like where the extra places in schools going to come from that are already full.

They get more dosh for green belt properties usually in more desirable areas than developing brown belt zones around the city.
Seen it round here where they demolish schools and build housing association properties where the association owns 25% of the house and you own 75%, the devil is in the detail.

Having lived in such property the deal is sh*t and the rights they have to interfere with your life is unbelievable.
Someone is getting well weighed in with Redrow etc making millions through the land grabbing and chippy tits is getting larger.

Does sound like the kind of sh*t the housing associations put out.
      They endeavour to make their
properties sound charitable and entirely beneficial to the homeowner when the reality is entirely different.
Chippy tits again destroying heritage for personal agenda.

Don't know Stuey, as i don't live there. One of the first things Klopp wanted when he signed on was to do this and integrate the entire academy with what he had at Melwood into a state of the art facility.

He is the driving force in this and has input into location, timing and even helped design it so the club could move into the 21st century.

The manager himself has stated that Melwood is not big enough to do that kind of things he would like to do.

So i suppose the counter arguments could be these

      - Chippy tits could have told the manager to F**k off and not spend the £50-60 million to build the place

      - Chippy could seek permission from the council to destroy multiple city block and build it at Melwood

      - They could leave it standing and build a tent city on the pitches and turn the existing cafeteria into a soup kitchen

      - Ask UNESCO to turn it into a world heritage site.

This is sure a tempest in a tea pot; it's not big enough, the manager asked for new training grounds; how exactly is chippy tits forwarding his personal agenda?

Wait until someone robs Klopps socks!!

      We are European Champions  (Check)
We might have one of the best squads in the past 30 years of this club (Check)
We will compete for the title this year (Check)
Everybody is on the same page (Check)
      New main stand (check)
Annie Road needs to be bigger (Check)
There is a brand new state of the art training facility coming (check)
No transfers to write on (check)

That entire piece tell's me nothing but the clicks are lower than normal and it would be best to stir the pot a bit and see if we can get some people worked up over a "historic and legendary" training ground?
