Forget Man City / PSG / Chelsea :) this summer, given we funded Konate with player sales, our outlay doesn't even compare with Arse/Spuds/Leicseter/WH etc.

Are you including the new contracts in your 'outlay' calculation?

The interest paid on these is very small and nowhere near what other clubs pay - and, over time, the investment in things like the stadium will pay for itself. It's investing in the long-term future of the football club. Man Utd's owners adopt a model you'd be much happier with and they are up to their eyeballs in debt because they do what you want us to do - spend money we haven't got. Make more and more purchases without thinking about tomorrow or how we will pay for it.

The interest on the loan is being paid by the owners

The loan was taken out in the US against FSG and then they moved the funds inter company , FSG make the regular payments for the loan - the club will only pay the amount loaned from FSG

As stated  paid by loans to LFC from the owners.

No it's not in their interest to distract. Why should they offend us fans - technically their customers. Why should they offend the sponsors - technically their revenue generator. Why should they offend the players - technically their staff who put on a great show.

How does distracting benefit them? And who should they distract. And how did they pull the distraction off? What did the distraction achieve? Any answers to these? Anyone has a chance now... Take it.

there seems to be or actually is a thought that FSG are in love with the club and will sell it for the money they invested in it. So when a man turns up in Boston with a bag of money with $4.2 billion they will say no no no we only paid $400million for it and transfers have been self funding.
They will take the money and the new owners will transfer the debt just like Hicks and Gillette on to the Club.
Interest Rates are and have been lower than ever before we could have been borrowing money for next to no interest but FSG dont want to damage their  cash cow that has actually seen something like a Ā£300mil a year increase in the clubs value. I cant believe JĆ¼rgen would decline the signing of players like MBappe or Haarland or Bellingham by saying no no no we cant afford them

And the owners have already turned down significant bids for the club

Was reading some where on here our glorious Klopp has spent about 20 million per season over his Five seasons here and look at what he has achieved, the owners are running the club on a self sustaining financial program, while watching the value of the club rocket, the skinflints have tried furloughing the staff, ticket price hikes, tried to trade mark the Liver bird and even trying to get us into a European football league, now I could forgive some of these antics if they financially supported Klopp but no, just want to milk the club, MINGES

lies again net spending must include sales and it is about Ā£19mil per year. Sadly for you and your hard on for FSG the internet is available to anyone who wants to find out the truth. Without JĆ¼rgen we would be in dire straights

Any owner has the ability to keep the monies from any and all sales and not use them for purchases. Surely you understand this.

Why is it lies 🤷ā€ā™‚ļø Ā£555mil spent on players

      Did VVD not cost Ā£75mil

      Alisson cost Ā£60mil

      Mo Ā£45mil

      Naby and Fabinho Ā£50mil

More money has been spent on players in the past 5/6 years than during any other managers time.

      Considering inflation thsts hardly surprising.

You're argument is basically bollocks. We've wheeled and dealed selling to buy plus 20 mil a season. To argue otherwise would be to take credit away from JĆ¼rgen.

Net spend of 19 mil a season and to be competing with Chelsea and City and out performing United he has done amazingly well.

Will the next man in charge do so well or are we close to slipping back into fighting for out lives for 4th once United get themselves a manager?

I was just stating facts - Iā€™m not sure where anyone is taking credit away from Klopp but itā€™s also worth remembering that the transfers are done by edwards

Klopp isnā€™t buying bargains and turning them into superstars regularly- the starting line up costs a fair whack

      Alisson -Ā£65mil

      TAA - youth
      VVD - Ā£75mil
      Matip - Free
      Robbo - Ā£8mil

      Fabinho - Ā£50mil
      Keita - Ā£50mil
      Henderson -Ā£25mil

      Mane -Ā£35mil
      Jota - Ā£45mil
      Mo - Ā£45mil

Then add in all the other players

The club have bought some quality players during Klopps time - bought by Edwards to fit a system - to give the credit to Klopp alone takes away a lot do credit that Edwards deserves as well

We arenā€™t paupers spending pennies - just because we donā€™t spend as much as others do doesnā€™t mean we are scraping the barrel for players

Personally I think the point with this debate (at least in my eyes), is that whilst we canā€™t spend like City or the Chavs, we can spend like a big club and not always seem to be balancing all incomings with outgoings.

I havenā€™t read the accounts and I assume weā€™ve taken a big hit due to Covid but Covid hasnā€™t been around for their entire tenure. IMO we are just a quality player or two short of JĆ¼rgen being able to walk this league, heā€™s that good.

Instead we seem to operate a very very efficient model where we milk every last drop out of the squad - which is fine but when you take knocks you need the replacements to come in. Banking on Keita, Ox, Fab, Hendo, Thiago all staying fit is a bit mental IMO because they all have/had injury issues and this is an area where we can surely push the boat out a little bit more.

We are almost expected to these days to treat new contracts like a new signing - itā€™s a cost of business to compete at the top level and win trophies rather than just finish top 4.

So in summary, yes we canā€™t spend like the petro clubs, but we can spend like one of the clubs with the highest revenue in the world regardless of that.

Iā€™m going to guess weā€™ve also recouped more money in sales in the same period? Maybe Iā€™m wrong?

I mean itā€™s not like the owners have just said ā€œaye, have at it JĆ¼rgen, go grab whoever you like, itā€™s all goodā€

Heā€™s said himself he has financial restrictions in place for purchasing. We are a sell to buy club, I didnā€™t realize there were still people that think otherwise?

      The point was simple

People are trying the club havenā€™t spent - ā€œĀ£20mil a yearā€ etc etc

And using that to suggest the manager isnā€™t being backed and the owners are this and that

The club have spent millions on players

The club run as self sufficient model - any money they earn is spent within the club

Wages , signing on fees , transfer fees etc - all from income

The income comes from various areas

      Commercial
      Matchday
      Telly Revenue
      Player sales

Itā€™s quite a simple model being honest and one that has allowed the club to purchase multiple outstanding players , players that fit the squad and system that the manager wants to employ

The way the club has been run has allowed the club to spend Ā£555mil on players since Klopp arrived - that shows how well the club is run
