We could have bought another £100M player every season and still not been able to get ahead of City.

Jürgen already got ahead of them without £100m per season but he wasn't backed how he was meant to be

Everyone and his dog knows Bellingham is the guy we delayed a season for. If we miss out on him how do we react to that? If we end up with no top 4 and a £20m net window will we just sigh and carry on or do we get vocal?

FSG will not be involved in any financial transactions affecting LFC as has been their modus operandi since day 1.

Not even a loan will be forthcoming for signings so urgently needed and Bellingham is the optimists dream.

Loans for bricks and mortar is all FSG will entertain and the hope that Klopps honesty and commitment will quell the supporters anger.

      Nice.

All well and good Freund being Jürgen's preferred choice but the Sporting Director works above the Head Coach and hires and fires them so not really his decision.

Great if they had a good relationship but would be like me saying X person is my preferred choice when we get a new Area Coach. Great if I agree but ultimately not my decision.

By coincidence that lack of urgency has saved them F***ing millions and lost us trophies.

      Interesting.

Personally it doesn't make sense for the Head Coach or Manager having a say in who is appointed above him.

Kind of goes against the DoF or Sporting Director model

Yes they need a good relationship but ultimately that system means Jürgen answers to that person.

I guess it points to what was rumoured about Klopp having more say in things ?

      I'd imagine so mate.

Not the way forward for me to be honest. What happens if Jürgen decides to jack it in?

If you have a Sporting Director model you hire him irrelevant of the Head Coach.

Not a huge fan of it because we have seen in the past where Klopp has wanted a player but they decided on someone else

Hopefully it will be a strong DoF and maybe that’s what happened with Ward.

Edwards and Ward had the authority to fire Jürgen?

I believe the decision to fire Jürgen lies at top management level, which is at Mike Gordon's and the owners' level. I think the DOF and manager roles are merely higher ranked staff, who are appointed by the top management - the decision guys, who also made the same decision not to dip into their own pockets to buy us players. But use any extra money to build bigger stands.

By coincidence that lack of urgency has saved them f**king millions and lost us trophies.

Thinking about this, you're right. We lose four trophies every year. We don't even come close for some of them. Cumulatively we'd have lost over 20 trophies in opportunity costs over the years? And we continue losing them...
