I said that in jest, but the cynical part of me thinks it would happen.

The next big fight with the owners.

      No fight needed

I'm wondering if the club will rule that a percentage of "away" supporters must have season tickets, and if the owners will subsidise the cost of that travelling support.

I was curious so had a look at NFL ticket prices.

A family of four can expect to pay $646.88 on average to watch an NFL game in 2023. Depends on where you live, and which opponent you want to see. An increase of 17% compared to last year.

Las Vegas Raiders: Costs a family of four, $1,381.96 (Ā£1,086.36)

Atlanta Falcons: Cost on average, $293.10 (Ā£231.41) ā€“ over $1,000 (Ā£786.10) cheaper than Raiders games.

      And the MLS

      MLS: $45 to $55

      LFC Ticket Pricing: League
      Main Stand Ā£61
      Upper Main Stand Ā£9 (Ā£9?)

I assume they play fewer games? Those prices are crazy. Is it $50 for a beer and a hotdog

NFL season is only 16 games before playoffs, so 8 home games per season.

I donā€™t follow the league, but i believe a few years ago some NFL teams implemented a ā€œpersonas seat licenseā€ system where you have to buy the license that then gives you the right to buy season tickets for a specific seat.

They can have a mini league pre season but not league games. Like the super league fans will be rightly furious

Until it rears it's head again. Not just the club but I think this will be a Premier League issue. They want to sell the league abroad similar to the NFL

It won't just be Werner mentioning it, watch for other CEO's at clubs in the league. When it becomes more a discussion, you know the idea is on the table. Get the feeling some are trying to float the idea.

JWH is just stick of the crying tweets from fans bitching about the club

There is no doubt imo that the Premier league want to have a game played abroad and it will happen at some point - Middle East , far east and the US will pay a fortune knowing that the stadiums will be rammed

Wouldnā€™t be too fussed if it was the charity shield.
Not sure how they are going to fit a transatlantic trip during the regular season with an already congested game every three days schedule.

Thatā€™s why Edwards is back. Was going to happen sooner rather than later.

Also saw they are looking at potentially buying the Celtics.

Out of interest, how they stumping up the 5 billion odd to buy the Celtics?

Are they going to sell one of their assets?

You "saw" wrong. Pure speculation by lazy mediots who seek clicks and relevance.
Henry & Co are value shoppers and distressed asset acquirers, not premium payers........ and the premium the Celtics will command will be exorbitant.

Why they are worth 7 billion!!!!!  But as a good business model they may try to get a partner investor to take uo somenof the slack.

Probably through external investors, debt and another portion in cash. At $5B still difficult to see it happening, though.
