at least if is called off it gives Roy a week to prepare for the arrival of mighty Blackburn and Big Sam who you've got to respect... :f_wah:

wouldn't mind this being replayed after we changed that manager...

I'm thinking it would be a good thing if this was called off, as we are sh*t at the moment!

                               Reina

      Kelly        Skrtel             Agger             Aurelio

                   Meireles          Gerrard

      Maxi                   Cole                         Babel

                              Torres

Honestly think our best formation is 4-5-1. I don't want Cole to be playing on the left or right because, even though he can, I feel he offers more from the centre.

      ^

      is Aurelio fit?
I'd rather see Pacheco start than Maxi, he offers us nothing at all.
Babel... probably the best player we have for the left-side... how poor is our squad... :(

Whoever he lines up, we'll lose. We could have Messi, Xavi, Alonso, Gerrard and Kaka and still play behind the ball.

When you look at these teams, Liverpool FC does not spring to mind does it?
January can't come quick enough in my opinion.
Liverpool is not a mediocre side but this is what I see when I look at any teamsheet these days.
Lets hope this spell of school boy football ends soon ey? :)

The problem does not lie as much in selections(though I don't fully agree with Roy) as it has got to do with ultra-defensive tactics.Get people closer to Torres and we might see something happening.

Agreed.  As crouchinho said, we'd have kaka messi et al and would still play for a draw.
The selection has still been poor though. Poulsen should never wear a red shirt.  Meireles on the right?

Which is a combination of the Old UEFA Cup/Fairs Trophy & the European Cup Winners Cup - competitions we always took seriously.  Really disappoints me how this competition is treated by some fans and the media, full of some very good sides, not easy to win, but it's the big one and we only want to watch the big one don't we.... in fact to say I feel disappointed in some fans and the medias reactions is probably understating it a tad.

I'd play Cole on the right so he can tear a certain former red a new one.

Napoli pitch vandalised ahead of Liverpool's Europa League visit

      • Six youths broke into stadium and dug holes in pitch
      • Match expected to go ahead as scheduled after repair work

Uefa delegates will inspect the pitch at Napoli's San Paolo stadium today after it was vandalised on Sunday. The Serie A side host Liverpool in the Europa League on Thursday.

A group of six youths broke into the stadium late in the afternoon before damaging both goals and digging as many as 50 small holes in the pitch.

Groundstaff have been working to repair the pitch since Monday morning, however, and Gazzetta dello Sport reports that it will be ready for Thursday's game and that Liverpool are expected to train on the pitch tomorrow evening.

One of the vandals has been caught and identified, but as he is a minor was returned to his parents without charge. Police believe that the group were simply acting out without any greater motive, but others have suggested they may have been encouraged by groups of Napoli supporters unhappy with the club's decision to raise ticket prices for the match.

"In my opinion this was not a simple act of vandalism," said the Naples councillor responsible for sport, Alfred Ponticelli. "I don't believe it was a coincidence that [Napoli] are playing Liverpool on Thursday,"

As long as there is no way of vandalising the air above the pitch and peoples heads none of us should be worried.

Bang on the money. It's a major european trophy, regardless if it's not THE major european trophy. LFC used to take all competitions seriously. And at the moment, this, with the FA Cup are the only options we have. I would love for us to progress all the way to the final, but I can't see that happening for some unknown reason...

I can say that I have absolutely no idea how tomorrow night is going to pan out.

Unfortunately, as a result of things lately, I wouldn't be surprised if we got beaten.

It's a weird situation really. Obviously I want to win, but I don't want Roy's chances of staying to be improved.
