Would You Welcome Rooney?

IF he wanted to come here to partner Torres, then yes I would welcome that fact. He is a quality player, who like Torres, is having a confidence crisis. Can't see it because of his blue connections. But remember that Fowler, Carra, McManaman, et al, were all "blues" growing up. Also, the fact is, we simply could not afford to buy him, especially as Man City are reportedly going to offer him half a million a week, and Chelsea are apparently willing to match and even exceed their offer! B ut if it wasn't down to money, and he wanted to get back at Fergie and play for us, then yes, I would welcome Rooney.

Loyalty in football these days is all but dead. Players agents, foreign ownership and foreign imports, and exorbitant wages have seen to this. The modern game is simply completely different from what the majority of us grew up with. Which is why IF Rooney did want in at LFC, it would not be about money. Won't happen though, and he'll probably take City for their 500k per week offerings.

On another note, how will clubs playing these ridiculous wages be able to compete in Europe next year with UEFA's proposal for income/expenditure determining eligibility? Or will it be a case of all talk, no action? Surely Chelsea, Barca, Real, Man City, UTD, will all be in the same boat in that they are paying out far more in wages than gate sales bring in?

It is not going to happen, but would I welcome him...? well, the question implies that the club has already signed him, if that was the case, I would welcome him as I welcome any player though I would not be very happy tbh.

Would I want the club to sign him? As a footballer, yes, but as a man, no way - he is a dirty philandering b***ard and does not represent my values at all.  But we have to give people a second chance, if Coleen forgives him and he genuinely changes, then possibly I could accept it.  His past footballing allegiances - though they could not possibly be worse - are not that much of a concern, as if he were to come to Anfield he would obviously have given them up!  We've also had blues in the team who became legends (Fowler, Carra) and Paul Ince did alright for us.

I doubt we'd ever be singing his name though - except against Utd and Everton

He wouldn't do that to the blueshite, we wouldn't pay the amount needed AND I think he's over rated.. A good player but not a great player (Yet?). The media have always overhyped both him and Terry into Gladiatorial figures... Good players (pains me to say) but severely over rated..
