fantastic comeback gerrard is amazing, I don't how ngog was in the poll, he is begining to frustrate me the rate he just jogs around the pitch he needs to step up and sprint for the ball stop lying around on floor like a girl and get up and get on with it. Rant over everytime I see nathan eccy on he always please's me he got lot's of skill on the ball

Please note John Henry you need 2 or 3 Stevies in your side to win at the very top level and that costs money. Players like Stevie dont grow on trees so unless you are lucky enough to find one locally then they cost big bucks mate. Its a sad truth that money talks in football.

Couple of things I noticed from the game.

1. Last season was definately just a one off from Stevie.
2. John Henry's missus is fit as.

Roy seems to have a couple of Get out of Jail free cards.

The first half was utter muck, as the game wore on Meireles was isolated on the right wing, and Shelvey was playing left wing. Bizarre.

Poulsen was awful.

First 30 minutes of the second half was a little better but it was noticeable that when Poulsen went off, to cheers, we looked a far better side.

Lucas heavily involved in the last goal.  But I'm pleased for Gerrard.  He has been going through the motions for about 18 months now.  That was his best performance for a long while.  If he starts putting shifts in like that, then Torres will start to see a lot more of the ball.

Can anyone explain a few things to me?  I was unable to watch the second half due to a work conflict, but I was wondering how some of our younger players did.  Shelvey nor spearing looked great in the first half, although I was more impressed with a few of Ngog's touches than I normally am.  How did they do in the 2nd half?  Did Eccleston put in a solid cameo?  I only ask because the post game reports naturally all center around Stevie, and the articles on the official website tend to be a little biased....

Far better than Poulsen, made a couple of mistakes & faded in the second half, but far better than Poulsen.

Yeah I've got extended highlights up and he has made a few good tackles to snuff out attacks.

I played better than Poulsen yesterday....and I am in the states. Poulsen = Garbage! Rubbish! Other words that we refer to as trash!

we were so bad in the first half....unbelievable

bring Stevie G on and all changed but was it because of the just his ability or did his presence lift the team.

As he himself said the first goal had nothing to do with class just desire and I think thats it.
We lack belief, motivation and desire. Our players dont know what it means to wear a red shirt any more.

Only Spearing was running around like a gave a S**t in the first half.

When Stevie came on everyone had a purpose about them and started battling more.
It lifted spirits and worked wonders.

What we need to do is to do that - whether he comes on or not!
They need to start believing in themselves and have more of a fighting spirit rather than just rely on Nando and Gerrard all the time

You could argue that before the wonderful performance of our once again inspiriational skipper the team were running around like headless chickens finding it difficult to stick with Roy's tactics. Roy didnt need to give Stevie any words of advice he knows the best way to win a match at Anfield is to get the crowd behind you by going forward with some purpose.

Think it would be GBH on account of him being a pro footballer and his feet would be considered weapons.
Like when a boxer goes to court for assaulting anyone what would normally be ABH is upped to GBH in the context of his profession.

Stevie G back to his best last night !the whole team responded to the change ,N'gog just doesn't inspire me as a striker ,bloody awful tackle he took though ! straight red card that one ,Poulsen ....even crappier than usual and should never play again for us ! Roy was very animated last night ..probably because John Henry was there with his wife ( very nice too ) the kids tried hard last night but maybe the game was too big for them ,A fit Nando would have scored 3 last night ,good second half reds !

This was a throwback to Stevie of a couple of seasons ago his best game for us for abut 18 months, clutching at straws but might have a knock on effect for Torres as well

It would be nice to see a smile on all of there faces on Sunday at 6pm.
