Good attitude, head down, tried hard, gave his best every game, unfortunately just not good enough.  He is not responsible for bringing him to Liverpool, I bet he was honoured that this great club were in for him, any player would jump at the chance to play at Anfield.  Didn't work out, not his fault.

Excellent post.  Fair dues the lad took some stick for being less than Liverpool standard - but he carried himself well and could quite easily have turned around and stuck two fingers up at us.

We should have seen the warning signs.

There was a thread like this on a Juve forum when he signed for us.

Although I'm happy we've got rid of Christian, I'd never go as far as having a go at him personally. Never his fault, he just wasn't good enough to be a Liverpool player and was signed by a manager who never should've been in charge.

his movement both on and off the ball was fluid, he had oceans of talent and i think given time, he would have had the minerals to make it here...

in all fairness, can the title of this be changed before he does officially sign.

i dont recall anything from him badmouthing the club or moaning about lack of playing time. at the end of the day, it wasnt his fault he was bought to us and wasnt good enough

Liverpool FC agree deal to sell Christian Poulsen with others set to follow him out of Anfield

LIVERPOOL have agreed a deal to sell Christian Poulsen to French club Evian TG with Joe Cole and David Ngog set to follow him out of Anfield on transfer deadline day.

The size of the fee for the Danish international hasn’t been revealed but the Ligue One new boys have been given permission to hold talks with the midfielder.

Poulsen’s departure has been expected with him a long way down the pecking order at Anfield.

The 31-year-old was bought by Roy Hodgson for £4.5million from Juventus last summer but struggled to adapt to the demands of the Premier League.

Poulsen, who had also been linked with a loan move to Espanyol, started just three league games under Kenny Dalglish and hasn’t featured for the Reds since the Europa League tie against Braga in March.

His lack of action recently cost him his place in the Denmark squad for their upcoming Euro 2012 qualifiers.

Cole will decide on his future today after holding talks with French champions Lille over a potential season-long loan deal.

Lille are able to offer Champions League football and are keen to snap up Cole after losing Gervinho to Arsenal and Yohan Cabaye to Newcastle.

There is also interest closer to home from Tottenham and Queens Park Rangers and Cole will weigh up his options before making a decision.

Another of Hodsons' legacy's that has unfortunately out stayed his welcome, having said that any hostility should be directed at the same man and not Poulson who did get his head down and got on with the job, unfortunately the skill levels were found wanting.

indeed, he was sh*te pure and simple. not whinging or lazy, just not up to scratch. hopefully this will be the final piece of hodgson's era cut loose.
