      Linkin Park
      Aug 26, 2010 11:14:07 am
      Just heard the new single

This is a band whose first 2 albums were superb and they now seem intent on F***ing their whole career up

The new single is garbage - Majorly dissapointed!

Pop/rock/hip-hop band destroys it career in attempt to win over more rockers.

They lost any credibility they had when they re-released their debut album with a dance track on it.

      Obviously just one trick ponies

I remember going to a Metallica gig.
These came on before and got pints thrown at them.
      Rightly so.

Not by me mind. I would never waste pint in such a manner.

I love their old stuff. Thrashed those albums in my angsty teenage years.

But the new stuff is like you said, just trash.

They've evolved. Try not to compare the album to their previous.

Listened to it from start to finish a number of times. Really great stuff. I'm with you guys, I was expecting some hard rock, Hybrid Theory type album. But the band wanted to move on, you could tell from the way they've played in recent concerts.. Brad and Dave (Lead and bass guitarists) have been stationary, barely moving from the spot when playing, compared to their early days of being proper rock guitarists jumping around the stage. Joe just stands there next to his decks looking lost (look at DJ Lethal of Limp Bizkit he's insane!) Chester and Mike have to carry the show being the only enthusiastic ones. Looking at the shows they've performed already since the release of the new album they look so much happier and have more roles to play, in the fact that they all back up sing in the songs.

I respect all fans opinions, most are with you guys thinking it's a extremely poor choice on their part.  First time I listened to it I hated it. Listen again and you'll see magic in the music.

I don't think that its fair to compare any of Linkin Park's new stuff to Meteora and Hybrid Theory. Not only are they completely different styles, but Meteora and Hybrid Theory were absolutely amazing albums.

I'm a huge Linkin Park fan, big fan of the new album as well as just about every other song they've released.

Going to Melbourne concert on Dec 12. Can't wait. I'm so pumped, wasn't allowed to go last time they were in Melb :( So this time I'm gonna make the most of it, get right into the mosh =D

Don't like the new album. They've filled it with a lot of very short "songs" and have only just over a handful of actual song length songs. Like the new single but that's about it.
