Came on to say just that ^ ^ ^.  :gt-happyup:

I would add that I would have loved to know just how far Hendrix could have taken things with the guitar.

For me would be Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Marvin Gaye, John Lennon and my favourite Marc Bolan.

I was heartbroken when he died.

Didn't smash enough drum kits mate cos he left this world far earlier than he should. Greatest drummer of all time.

Many of them probably want to stay dead, Cobain for instance. :P

Think I'd go for Bob Marley.

I would add that I would have loved to know just how far Hendrix could have taken things with the guitar.
Some of his friends were quoted as saying that Jimi was depressed at the time of his death with the fact that he felt his music wasn't going the way of his enormously successful and innovative previous works.
Some even felt that his OD'ing was in part due to his disillusionment with his talents, his premature death is still shrouded in mystery and the only certain thing is it was not suicide, which incidentally took some years to establish.

Listen to him on Who's Next Gareth, it takes your breath away - never has been or will there ever be anyone that can match his magic. Moon the lune, he's gone but no one's told him.

Keith's musical talents will never be gone as long as there's people to appreciate real music.

Richey Edwards from the Manic Street Preachers, 1 February: 1995 at 7 AM  Richey checks out of the Embassy hotel, and is never seen again, prior to that Richey takes £200 a day from his bank account for the two weeks before his disappearance, for a total of £2800. Its alleged he lived in his car for 12 days which was found abandoned with burger wrappers & pictures of his family from the previous month inside, with the battery run down at (Aust) Severn service station.

There is alleged sightings of him in various places right up until 2004 then the trail goes cold, no body has ever been found, however there have been two bodies that were believed to be him that were later proved not to be and on November 23rd 2008 his legal status was changed to "Presumed Dead".

I'd love to bring him back and in the event that he was still alive anyway, just ask him the question "What made you just walk away from your family, friends and fame and fortune for 15 years & not contact any of your loved ones to let them know you were safe and well ?"

And in the case of him being dead.

      Just simply

"What made you do it, in the manner that you done it ?"

Yes, I agree with you about Joe Strummer, his music whichever group he was with (Clash, the mescaleros etc) will always be in my heart.
I would also like to bring back Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly, Michael Jackson and even though Sid Vicious was most known as a bass player he could sing, I would love to have seen what he would be like today.
