Will definitely check it out later, thanks. 🐭

Grohl not in this one, but Lanegan front and centre.

Never been the biggest grunge fan, but do like certain stuff - shows what a talented musician Chris was with some of the covers posted on here since the news of his death. Only just realised it was Chris who did the song for Casino Royale - You Know My Name.

      RIP Chris Cornell

The best Bond theme in my opinion. Such a great tune.

Always liked the song, just never realised at the time it was released that it was the singer from Soundgarden.

They are saying he hung himself. I'm baffled....he didn't seem like he would be the type to do that....you could see Cobain's issues coming a mile away, you knew Staley and Weiland would likely succumb to drugs, but Cornell seemed to be in a better place and really ready to hit the next phase of his life clean and sober. He left a wife and 3 kids behind. I'm completely distraught. Can't believe it.

Unless it's an overdose and it doesn't sound like that, my thinking would be more depression.

I remember getting "Superunknown" like it was yesterday. The cover was mesmerising. Putting on 'Spoonman' up to 11 with a clan, doing the pissed primal ape dance. What a F***ing band and frontman, a different time.

The unfortunate thing with mental illness, no matter how well you're doing - sometimes it doesn't take much to change it. I battle with it a bit with some anxiety issues and F**k, the switch can just flip. Definitely a shock this one, I did a double take at the pub last night when I saw the news on my phone and must have looked so stunned, the wife was asking me what was wrong. Just couldn't believe it.

      I need this today.
Given the topics, the rage, the energy that goes into Grunge,
I often felt it was no wonder so many burnt out.
Doesn't make it any easier to deal with seeing all your idols take their lives.

Never been a huge Soundgarden fan to be honest, normally look at them as the worst out of the main grunge bands and the Seattle scene. Still it feels extremely weird to see another icon of that time to go, particularly under such sad circumstances. RIP Chris Cornell.

Currently listening to this though, a good album:

You should listen to his last album Diego, Higher Truth. In my opinion his best. Although looking at it now....it seems very prophetic....a lot of themes of mortality and loneliness.

You don't have to be a Soundgarden fan to appreciate Cornell's talent, Diego.
That was the thing about him.

Man I hope he recorded a DVD of this gig.
      Video is brutal, but man.
      This moment.
      This song.
Sang my heart out. Cried my eyes out.
Not my video. I'm one of the thousands singing.

      Also from Cork gig.
      This was magic.
Finally got to sing the end bit live with the "We belong together" improv.

Pearl Jam announce their 11th Studio Album to be titled Gigaton. Coming out in March.

It's been something like 7 years, so a lot of anticipation for this and it better be damn good!

      Two things....

      1. Hope the second leg of the North American tour comes somewhere remotely close to me. I was able to go to a show in South Florida last time around.

      2. While I understand the current "climate"...I hope this album isn't Riot Act v2 only about climate change. I get it's a big issue, and I didn't dislike Riot Act...but I just hope the music isn't sidetracked by the message if that makes sense.
