Would be worried if we have to take players on loan, it would make me wonder if NESV have the resources to take us back into the top 4.

Talented, but not a 'Liverpool' player.

There is nothing wrong with a smart loan deal in principle and we don't need NESV's resources to take us back to the top four, we only need our own resources reinvested in the club.

If we startlooking to buy players of high moral character then the list is going to be very small. If he can score us 20 goals a season he'll do for me.

Undebatable quality and would be a good foil for Torres , downside is that he is a giant moody c**t of a bloke.

Liverpool have made an enquiry to Manchester City for Emmanuel Adebayor, skysports.com understands.

The Togolese star is one of a number of City players who have been linked with a move this January.

The former Arsenal striker is far from being first choice under Roberto Mancini and the imminent arrival of Edin Dzeko will push him further down the pecking order.

Now a host of clubs are making contact with City to register their interest in taking the 26-year-old.

      Loan

And skysports.com understands that Liverpoolare the latest club to express an interest.

However, they are not the only club looking at Adebayor, with Tottenham, West Ham and even Real Madrid linked with a move.

Liverpool would currently only be in the market to take Adebayor on loan given his wages and possible fee, with City unlikely to accept a cut-price deal for a player they paid over £25million for just 18 months ago.

But should City allow him to move on loan, then the Anfield club would hope to be in pole position to land him.

Is anybody else starting to get a little bit worried about all this money stuff again?

I thought all this sh*t was over and done with?

The people talking about our money are definitely schizophrenic. One week we're offering 15million for players such as Elia and now we're only in the market for loan players.

As for Adebayor, all he wants is money, and communicating to him could be a problem, but he is a good player. Bit worried at how moody he is tho.  Still, he would be a good foil for Torres.

Cant c wat the problem is with signing him on loan, yes hes a tool and not the sort of player we like to sign, but he is quality and will provide us with a perfect foil for torres and wud help him out in the goals aswel, also by gettin him on loan we can c what hes gonna b like, attitude wise an if it doesnt work out we just hand him back....simples......

I am JD and said as much in the Ryan Babel (Birmingham loan) thread.

"I'll own up to being a bit bemused that the penny pinching (for different reasons admittedly) we saw under H & G continues. ..."

We need (in my opinion) proper investment in the short term just to catch up; then worry long term. I'll be well pissed off with NESV if we have to sell before we can buy.

Yes mate but even then, some were reporting that the Elia deal was dependent on us selling players first.

It's all rumour and speculation as usual though, both positive and negative so we have little choice but to wait and see what happens this month.

I am as well JD it seems to be everywhere we have very little money to spend on players and to be honest NESV haven't been very forthcoming in talking about Liverpool in the transfer market.
